Chapter 4 - A World Filled With Vampires And Werewolves

When King Zander entered the room, he frowned at the sight that was right before his eyes.

Bending over his bed was the man to whom he had delegated the job of preparing his bath.

'What does he think he is doing?' He wondered while continuing to watch the young man struggling before him.

Reina was ignorant of the fact that there was someone watching her as she tugged and fought with the sheets in her hands.

'Why are fitted sheets such a hassle!?' She growled in her mind when she failed even after her fourth attempt at getting them done.

Every time she managed to secure one side of the enormous bed, the other side would spring out of place, making her task difficult to complete no matter how many times she tried.

'I wish Rozella was here!' She lamented in yearning for her maid, Rozella, who would make her bed each morning.

But now that she was in a whole other world, she was the maid for that ruthless King who might chop her head off if she failed at this simple task.

'Correction! I'm not even a maid here, I'm the CHAMBERLAIN!' She harrumphed that her position was a masculine one instead.

When one end of the sheet was snugly fit under the mattress, the other would come undone thus increasing Rein's problems.

While she was trying to recall how her predecessor, Rein had managed to complete this task each morning, the man who stood by the door of his office was still there as he watched this scene.

King Zander sneered when he saw his servant struggling to finish such a simple task.

Bent over the head of the bed, Rein was still fighting tooth and nail to get the work done.

'He truly has a feminine body…' Zander remarked when he saw how slender his servant's waist was from this point of view.

As Reina was bent forward, her hips followed by her posterior and her long legs were visible in plain sight for the King to behold.

King Zander could only scoff after observing how frail this young servant was.

"Why do I even keep you next to me if you cannot complete this simple task?" He finally made his presence known, sneering at the man bending over his bed.

Startled at this voice that came out of nowhere, Reina yelped and jumped to stand in an upright position.

King Zander's frown only deepened after hearing this squeaky voice and made a note of something else.

'I should get someone to look into this matter.' He decided before turning away and walking towards his bathroom.

Just before he could enter, he paused and gave out another command before vanishing from this bedroom once again.

"Place my clothes on the bed before you leave." His words echoed in Reina's ears as the door shut behind the King.

The poor woman who was still adjusting to her new body and new identity as the Chamberlain of the King patted her chest to calm her thumping heart which seemed to burst out at any second.

'He snuck up on me!' She scoffed as she had not sensed his presence until he had spoken up.

Reina shook her head, determined to finish her work and leave this room before he could return from his bath.

However, her feet, which had just begun to move, halted when a certain thought entered her mind.

'Meteor Sama in a bathrobe…' Her mouth watered at the thought of that glorious sight but thinking of the cold voice that came out of that very face, she chided her mind for even looking forward to such a sight.

Earlier when King Zander had made his presence known, Reina had just remembered how the real Rein would change the sheets.

Therefore, this time, she used her abnormally high speed to move from one corner to the other and finished changing the sheets in an instant.

'To think that I was jumping around like a monkey to complete this task.' She chuckled awkwardly then rushed to the next task.

Pulling open the doors of the King's wardrobe, she chose an amazing outfit for him to change into and neatly arranged it on his bed.

Then taking one last glance at the bathroom door through which she could still hear the muffled sounds of water being sloshed around, she turned and walked to the other end of the room.

Her bedroom was separated from the King's by a simple wall.

All she had to do was push the door to exit his room and enter hers and that is what ahe did.

After making sure that she had locked her bedroom door so that no one entered, she slumped against it as her back slid to the floor.

The cold floor did nothing to deter her as she sat there… Contemplating what her life had now become.

'A new world…' She thought to herself.

She had already realized that she was now in a new world that was widely different from the one she was used to.

The proof of this fact was the memories that now filled her mind, the new body that she had seen and felt, and finally the man she had just met.

Even if this was a dream that she had managed to conjure in an attempt to escape reality, the pain that she had experienced earlier was enough to prove this theory wrong.

'It hurt like a son of a b-' She curbed her mind from spilling obscenities.

Closing her eyes, she recalled the various memories that she had experienced earlier.

As her eyelids fluttered open, her icy blue eyes were filled with conviction that she had transported into a whole other realm, a new world.

"A world filled with Vampires and Werewolves, created by Demons." She muttered a distinct line from her memories.

Stumbling off the cold floor, she strode to the mirror and stared at the beautiful androgynous face reflected in it.

Reina leaned closer to the mirror and parted her lips after which she gazed at her teeth, particularly her canines or cuspids which seemed sharper than what was considered normal.

Concentrating on those canines, she narrowed her eyes and let out a low grunt while she attempted to accomplish something.

Lo and behold! In her very first attempt, two razor-sharp fangs appeared as those canines lowered considerably.

Ever the curious kitten, Reina poked those fangs with her finger to ensure that they were the real deal.

Feeling the sharp edges of her teeth, she was now sure about another part of her identity.

"I... am a Vampire…" She muttered under her breath and tried to assimilate this new information into her mind.

As her fangs withdrew, so did Reina's momentary panic for what she had landed herself into.

Practicing the breathing exercises her therapist had taught her in her previous life, she took a seat on the edge of her bed before her legs could give out.

A world run by creatures she had only read in stories and watched in movies was where she was right now.

Not to mention that she too was one among those creatures now.

She was no longer Reina Gomez, an ordinary human but Rein Melk, a Vampire just like them.

This explained why she could move at such monstrous high speeds to complete her tasks.

As her brain wrapped around the notion that she was now a creature of the night, something was gnawing at her.

'Why don't I have pale white skin and red eyes?' She wondered as those were the most prominent features of a Vampire that she had learned from her sources, ergo, the movies and books.

'Meteor Sama's evil imposter also did not have red eyes.' She recalled that contrary to her earlier beliefs, the King had golden eyes which resembled a tiger's.

Now that she had taken a moment to ponder over her identity, the fog surrounding her brain was lifting.

She had experienced those memories but now the reality of the situation was hitting her like a truck speeding on an empty highway.

'He is a Vampire too!' She cried out as not only was he a vampire, but he was also the most powerful of them all.

The Youngest Vampire King to rule the land of Valanthur, King Zander Chadwin Rudwick was the man many feared.

'And I just happen to be working under him, living in the room next to his?' She scoffed at her luck which was rotten as ever.

While Reina was trying hard to adjust her breathing which was getting shallow with every new bit of information that she was taking in, her ears perked up when she heard footsteps coming from the room next door.
