Humming a famous song that Meteor Sama used to sing for his Meteorites, Reina began preparing the simplest of dishes.
'Grilled cheese sammies~' She grinned as she was lucky enough to find all the ingredients needed for this simple dish.
She heated the pan, tossed in a slice of butter, then threw in two slices of bread to toast them evenly before placing the cheese slices she had found in the cold storage room.
It was the replacement of a refrigerator she could find here as only that tiny room was unbelievably cold in contrast to the rest of the kitchen area.
Upon inspection, she found an icy blue stone attached to the corner which proved that a magic stone with the ice attribute was used.
Different attributes were used for different purposes and this one was meant to freeze or chill everything in its immediate vicinity.
Reina then pressed the two bread slices together and waited until the cheese was melted before she turned the stove off by tapping the magic stone controlling it.
Plating her simple sandwich, she sat down at the kitchen island and took in a long whiff of the beautiful scent of the cheese which accentuated the aroma of the buttery yet crispy toasted bread.
'What is he trying to do?' A shadow lurking in the corner had been watching Rein's every move and was suspicious to see the chamberlain here at this late hour.
This shadow belonged to Treegan Molt who had just completed his nightly duty, making a perimeter check of the Palace grounds.
He was on his way back to his room on a different floor when he saw this man sneaking in a certain direction.
Treegan was curious to see what was going on and thus, had ended up following Rein all the way to the Kitchen and to his surprise, saw the man making himself a sandwich.
The Rein he knew had no skill or knowledge of what was what in the kitchen.
He could not even boil water if he was asked to do so.
There was once an incident in the past that could be used to prove this notion.
When the King had once asked Rein to brew him a cup of fresh tea, the chamberlain had brought the bitterest and most horrendous tasting tea that the King had ever sipped.
Being a King, the mighty man could only gulp down the dreadful concoction prepared on his command without spitting it out right on the chamberlain's face.
Though he had consumed the tea, it was not without consequences for the one who had made him suffer.
Immediately after the cup had been completed with the King trying hard to maintain his composure, the chamberlain was given a befitting punishment.
The young vampire's sentence for the crime he had committed was to learn how to prepare a proper cup of tea.
For this monumental task, an expert with high credentials and trusted by many was called into the Palace.
A well-renowned tea sommelier, known for his expertise in both identifying and preparing tea using different techniques was assigned as Rein's instructor.
However, this was not any ordinary being residing in this kingdom.
The instructor was an archaic and strict gargoyle who did not shy away from striking his disciples when they failed to follow his teachings.
Thus, for a whole week, poor Rein Melk had to suffer while trying his best to learn the art of tea making by following the wicked sentient being's teachings until he could perfect it.
After that incident, even to this date, if the King wished to drink tea, it was Rein who was called upon no matter the time or the place.
However, through the eight years that Rein had been in the Palace, Treegan had never seen him enter the kitchen of his own free will.
He was either here to fetch something for the King or relay an order for something that the King desired to eat soon.
Never was it for his sake which was what he was doing right now.
Rein Melk was not ordered to yet he had come out of his room and into the kitchen by his own volition and was even seen cooking something for himself.
While he was in his thoughts, Reina finished scarfing down the sandwich which had filled her tiny stomach.
Having completed the purpose of her arrival here, she rose from her seat and placed the dirty dishes in the sink before leaving the kitchen.
Treegan finally stepped out of the shadows once he was sure that the servant had left and walked towards the counter where Rein had just worked.
'Will one sandwich even be enough to fill his stomach?' He wondered and was proud that he could eat half a dozen before he was full.
This thought only made him remember how weak the King's third aide was which brought about firm conviction that he had made the right decision earlier.
He had taken up the responsibility of training him and he would surely make him stronger, allowing him to unleash his true potential.
While Treegan headed back to his room where he would soon chalk out a detailed training regimen for the weak man, Reina was rubbing her full belly as she had already returned to her room.
Her stomach felt full after the late-night snack but at the same time, she felt a hunger which she could not satisfy.
The desire and urge to consume was high in her but she could not decipher what she was supposed to consume.
Just the thought of drinking blood was making her stomach churn so she was sure that her sudden urge could not be connected to that.
'So what could it be?' She wondered as she sat on the bed.
Sighing in defeat that she could not figure the answer out, she rose and entered the bathroom to bathe before she could hit the bed for the night.
As Reina relaxed in the bath which was considerably smaller when compared to the King's, the same man was frowning as he glared at the room next to his.
'How many times is he going to sigh?' King Zander scoffed as his eyes focused on the wall separating them.
He had noticed the lack of his chamberlain's presence in either of their rooms after he had completed his bath earlier.
However, he had not bothered to think about it any longer and changed into the nightwear that Rein had picked out before laying down in his comfortable bed.
Just as he was about to drift away into sleep, he heard the sound of footsteps which indicated that his servant had returned and also sensed how he smelled of cheese.
Frowning in disgust, he rubbed his sensitive nose which was being overwhelmed by that aroma after Rein entered the room next to his.
The sigh was audible enough to reach his ears which made him roll his eyes.
'He acts as if the Kingdom's responsibilities are resting on his tiny shoulders.' Zander sneered as the sound of the water being sloshed around had now begun to be heard.
This made him stop thinking about the other man who was taking a bath and decided to get some rest as it was a big day for him tomorrow.
When Reina returned after her bath, her naked body was covered in a long towel that reached her thighs.
The first thing she did was to check whether both the main entrance and the side entrance that led to the King's room were properly locked.
'Can't have anyone barging in while I'm like this.' She declared and returned to her wardrobe to check what kind of clothes she had stored in here.
Her eyes scanned across the long line of uniforms which most likely were spares for emergencies.
Shaking her head at Rein's thorough planning and obsessive preparations, she turned to the second wardrobe and hoped to find something useful there.
Thankfully, this one held regular clothes which she could use.
As expected, most of them were menswear but she found that they suited her taste.
Even in her previous world, Reina's usual wardrobe was filled with oversized clothes and hoodies which covered up the goods completely.
Here too, she found that, unlike the fitted uniform, everything in this second wardrobe was too loose for someone her size.
Gazing at these clothes, a frown formed on her lips.
'What kind of nonsense reverse psychology was Rein using!?' She sneered at this contradiction.
Her sleepwear entirely consisted of oversized clothes which hid her body but her work attire, her uniform was of a snug fit, outlining her entire body.
'I should change the uniforms to a looser fit to hide the goods.' She decided while glancing at her full breasts which she believed needed to be concealed but froze in place.
This was due to the images that had popped up in her head.
From what she could make out from these new memories she was seeing now, she had a fair idea about how Rein had managed to trick the King and everyone else into believing that she was truly a man.
Her eyes turned to the first wardrobe as the explanation was present in it.
