Chapter 100 - Misunderstandings

"This is what we should do, Mary. Anyway, what happened to you and Monroe in Warren City? Why did you get shot? Also, your face is badly wounded! Did Monroe bully you?" Jayce asked Mary. 

Mary's heart skipped a beat! 

How should she answer? 

Did Monroe give them an explanation? 

She didn't check their statements in advance. If she answered incorrectly, would it cause any unnecessary trouble for Monroe? 

Mary looked conflicted and didn't answer for a long time. 

Jayce sighed. "Since the two of you aren't willing to talk, forget it. You should rest well. I'm going back to New York." 

Jayce turned around and was about to leave. 

Mary called out to him again. "Jayce!" 

Jayce turned around, and Mary looked at him with a sincere and apologetic gaze. 

Jayce's heart suddenly skipped a beat, and then he heard Mary say, "Some time ago... I mistakenly expressed my feelings for you, causing you trouble. I'm really sorry!
