Taking a deep breath, Tristan began, "Okay then. W-Well, as you know, a lot of us here aren't from the same parents. Some of us grew up in different households, others were orphans from birth and a bunch of other complicated lifestyles."
"Go on," Toshirou encouraged.
"Y-yeah, the same could be said for Rota and me. Where I once had a family, she had nobody, no one at all in her life to call her own. When I was kid, my father was into gambling a lot, and my mother was a female prostitute. It got so bad, that everyday debts kept piling up, and my mother kept staying later and later outside at night."
"But one day, she suddenly disappeared. Without a trace, without any warning of the sort, she upped and left, leaving us all alone. Shortly after that, the debts my father accumulated caused him to disappear too, abandoning his only son, and leaving him for the world to deal with."
