"I mean, yeah, I think it's something we should have expected, though I'm not particularly sure how the process goes. It's safe to say that it's a good thing if he is meditating for this long. It means he's at peace with himself... or something like that."
"Woof! Woof!" The dog responded.
Joel was sure anyone else would have simply assumed he was out of his mind. After all, he was speaking with a dog, and he was communicating on the basis that the dog could understand and respond to him. As crazy as it seemed, the boy genuinely believed the cub could hear him.
'Then again, I haven't had any weird dreams about that thing inside of me. Ever since Toshirou-nii placed his hand on me, I haven't felt scared, and nothing bad has happened. I wonder what he did.'
