Snowflakes line the walls of the dining room. Fake snow made of unspooled sheep wool dot the tables and doorways. I'm seated in the middle of the dining hall surrounded by the villagers.
"Congratulations on your baby!" the villagers shout as soon as I was able to open my eyes.
Melody and Skye walk over to me holding two pieces of string. Melody ties one to my wrist, and Skye ties the other to Isaac's wrist.
"A child is the greatest gift a couple can have," Melody begins to say as she steps to the side. "It shows the love, care, and trust that the couple have for one another."
"A child cannot choose his or her parents, so it is the parents job to ensure that the child will never want another set by providing the child its basic needs along with everything the child deserves," Skye adds in, standing to the other side of Isaac.
