Long ago, when the first Winter Vessel Raymond was just a child, he had a hard time making friends. This was during a time when the title "Winter Vessel" wasn't created, leading Raymond to be labeled as a monster. He was outcasted as the one who killed his mother since he had neither mother nor father with him. Just a wolf. A singular arctic wolf kept him company during Raymond's growing years because, just like how Raymond had no family, the wolf didn't have one either.
One day, Raymond was minding his own business, hiking in the forest that surrounds the village of Eshea. In the middle of his hike, he found a boy around his age crying behind a bush. Raymond didn't want to approach the child since he thought that the boy would admonish him like how the other villagers did. However, when Raymond turned around to walk away, the boy caught sight of Raymond.
"Ah! Excuse me," the boy sniffles, wiping his tears. "Do you know how to get to the village?"
