After Yumer's disclosure of the Fleur's frequent travels before the war, George and Freddy speak up regarding what they can remember from their parents' and grandparents' stories.
The Lumiere's spent a lot of time past the northern gate because of how dark it gets in the mountainous area. They provided the mountainous cities and the neighboring towns with their electricity because the mountain range blocks a lot of the sunlight on one side. The Lumiere's eventually discontinued their service in the mountainous areas because the power grids could not withstand the amount of snow that was downcasted after the Winter Vessel ceased protection over it.
