The time has come. Lunch is finished cooking. The dining room is marked out and prepared. Counter measures against the rain are outside and ready. I check my watch as the dial ticks away, playing with my anxiety as it appears to tick slower than normal.
"Lady Viola, the Lumiere Family has arrived," the gate guard announces over the intercom.
"Let them in," I respond before taking a deep breath.
The Lumiere Family. They are widely known as the literal powerhouse of Eshea. They own and run the city's electric grid, so without them, the city will be under darkness with only candles to light the way.
I have heard rumors about them during my study on the founding families regarding how highly they think of themselves. They tend to brag about themselves whenever they can, so I'll have to keep them under control during our meeting.
