"Wow... you really gone and got yourself almost killed again, huh?"
Squinting at the harsh light, I wait for my eyes to adjust only to find my father squatting in front of me. My mother comes up behind him and whacks him on the back of his head.
"Honey! That's not how you talk to your daughter!" My mother comes up to me and helps me stand up. She fixes my disheveled hair then give me a big hug. "Hey there, Snowflake, how are you?"
"I'm okay, but how did I end up here again? I was just at the Spring Ceremony."
"Ugh! The Spring Ceremony. I always hated doing that because it uses a lot more power and energy to stop winter than it does to start it," my father comments before my mother smacks him again.
"Honey, your daughter is dying. Can you take this seriously?" My mother shakes her head with an accompanied sigh. "You were shot in the heart by someone. I'm assuming that they used the loudness of the crowd to hide the sound of the gunshot. That or they had a silencer on their gun."
