"Arhhhh…. My head, shit why is it bleeding?"
Sirus sits up and notices that there is a bloodstain on a wooden railing to his right. "Damn, what happened?" Sirus checks his surroundings and finds that he is in a wagon full of hay that is stained with pitch black blood. The moment Sirus exits the wagon, his eyes widen in shock.
"Wah... Why is everything on f... Fire!" Sirus tries to get up but the damage to his head makes it difficult, his vision is blurry and hazy, he drops to his knees and slowly raises his head to see that the barricade the villages had built has burned to the ground and all the villages guarding the front have burned to a crisp to as well. Sirus looks up as he holds his head, remembering what happened.
"Ow... I remember Chief throwing me off the mountain, that crazy guy. He wasn't even aiming right, shit, how long have I been passed out. I need to find my parents and make sure they're okay, but where would the evacuation area be, I haven't the faintest idea.
I think I saw. Fuck, I'm talking too much, I'll just go to the back of the forest." Sirus slapped his face and a moment later touched his head and saw that the bleeding had stopped.
Sirus shook his head and looked around. "An axe? That will come in handy. Now is the time to go. I hope the chief didn't do something stupid and get himself killed."
Sirus went over to the bodies of the burnt corpses and took an axe that was still intact. He ran towards the back of the village, towards the forest.
"Shit, I didn't even realise how big the village was until now." Sirus slowly stopped his movement and quickly hid behind one of the houses, looking over his shoulder.
"I was about to run straight to the Humans shit, I thought they were survivors. What are they doing look like they got hostages, not good." Sirus whispered.
Just barely peeking out of the corner he narrowed his eyes to the Knights holding the hostages, trying to see who they have. Sirus saw multiple villages tied up against the trees. He squinted his eyes trying to identify if he recognized any of them, but due to the intense fires and the smoke coving the atmosphere he could not see well who were held hostage just that they saw the sparkle of the Knights armour within the fog.
Sirus rested and tried to think of a plan to save the villages, but he knew this was no game. This was a life and death situation. He closed his eyes and tried to picture the area where the Knights were standing and the hostages were when he first saw them. He could see a total of three knights and one person in a robe, and since it was a fantasy world, he knew that this person in the robe was most likely a human who could cast spells. He was curious if there was magic in this world, the school didn't say or mention anything about magic so he could not be sure, but that would not confuse him. While he was trying to come up with a plan, he lost his concentration when he heard several screams. Sirus did not rush out but he got up and crept around the house to get closer to the area, with each step the screams got louder and louder and Sirus found it harder and harder to stay hidden and rush out and help, he desperately wanted to help the villagers but it would not do anyone any good. If he was to be caught he would most likely be killed. Sirus crept lower as he approaches the other houses and tried not to inhale the toxic fumes from the ashen air. He made it closer to the point he could almost see the faces of the villages. There were more Knights and Humans in robes as he squinted his eyes. From when he first saw the Humans there was just 3 Knights and one robe Human but as he got closer he was shocked to see how many there were.
'Why are there so fucking many of them! I can't even hit any of the Knights since there covered from head to toe in their armour, huff, this will be harder than I thought.' Sirus thought to himself as he gripped the axe tightly. 'The only ones I will be able to kill if I got a chance were the robe Humans, but even then, what if they could utilize magic? If they did then they could just form a barrier and then I would surely die. I don't want to leave them alone to get tortured and killed but I need to save myself if I have no other choice.' He peeked the corner and heard the Humans started talking but he couldn't understand a single word.
'What are they saying? I never heard of this language before, this is just getting harder and harder by the second, think, think, what can I do?' Sirus swept his eyes across to see the hostages, and luckily he didn't see his parents at least not what he could tell from the fog. It was still hard to see clearly in this damn fog. He couldn't even see the Humans faces as well.
Sirus continued to look as he saw one Human, In particular, torturing the villagers.
'Is this guy questioning them? If I couldn't understand what they were saying I doubt the others could understand since only the hunters went in and out of the village to hunt, even then I doubt they could understand them. And from the looks of it, there's only males held hostaged.' Sirus became furious at himself as he felt so useless, he gritted his fangs and spat at the floor. 'I did notice something though, the humans are shorter in compassion to the villagers, that's right! Male Demon can grow up to 2 metres tall and even up to 3 metres tall and the females could grow from a metre and a half to 2 metres tall. Humans only grow up to a metre and a half tall and that was only the males, I may be slightly smaller or the same height as the humans, these hind legs did make me taller than the other demons children.
I'm wasting too much time talking to myself like an idiot, I need to find a way out of here but beyond this is the forest and I can't move closer than where I am since there are no houses to hide behind too, tsk, I might need to make a run for it and hope I don't get caught or worse, killed.'
Sirus takes a deep breath and tried to think of some way to make it out of here alive he heard footsteps coming from the humans, as he peeked over he saw two extra Humans walking up to the others.
________
"Did you get any information out of them?"
"No Sir, it doesn't seem any of these Demons speak our tongue Sir."
"Tsk, alright then if they are useless then kill them already, set them on fire or something I don't care, we need to find the Demon with the strong Magic Aura."
"Yes, Sir! Wizards prepare your fireball and cast it upon the Demon they are no longer of any use!" The Knight said as he pointed a finger at the Demon tied up.
[Swoosh]
[Swoosh]
"ARGHHHH!"
"ROARRRR"
Philip stared as the Demon slowly turned to black corpses with a blank expression. He turned his head to his right side with a brow tilted up.
"I can sense strong Aura in that direction. You there!" Philip pointed a finger at the group of knights before pointing towards a house that was approximately 26 metres away.
"Go over and check that building and see if there are any Demons."
The Knights looked over to the direction to where Philip's finger was pointing before moving to investigate with their swords and shields raised in front of them.
"What is the matter, Philip?" Kane said as he moved closer to him and watched the Knights closing in to the house.
Philip moved his head to the left side with a dumbfounded face.
"You idiot, your a Holy Knight and you can't sense that powerful presence?"
Kane opened his mouth slightly and looked over the house and felt a powerful Aura coming in that direction.
"I only noticed it now." He replied as he looked back to Philip.
_________
'Shit, did I get spotted? It's already nighttime but still, the flames would make me visible if I ran to the forest. I need to move now before I get killed! Stay calm this is no time to panic. What can I do?'
[Thump]
[Crack]
[Thump]
'I have no choice I need to make a run for it!' Sirus's heart was pounding harder and harder as the Knight closed in, He ran out in the open and the Knight froze still as they couldn't see the black figure which the fog from the flames coved his body. All they saw was a tall black figure with weird scary legs holding what looks like a spear or some kind, the monster held the object above his head and threw with a strong throw, knocking back one of the Knights as he falls down to the ground.
[Swoosh]
[Ding!]
Unable to process what happened the black figure ran towards the forest with such speed that the moment he touched the grass he disappeared like a shadow.
"FOOLS! Chase after it! All of you chase after it now!"
The Knights and the Archane Wizards all nod and they chase after the black figure.
"Wha… What was that black monster?" Said Kane as he stuttered in fear.
"I don't know, It didn't look like a Demon with those legs but we can't be certain, tsk, by the time those idiots reach the forest, the monster would be long gone by now." Philp replied as he walked across a few metres and held out his left hand in front of him and pulled back the string as the arrow appeared. 'A freeze arrow would do to slow it down.' Philip thought to himself as he launched the arrow and gusts of wind pushed back debris from the shockwave.
________
"YES! I made it out somehow. Huh? Huff, I hear water nearby but damn it, I can't see anything." As Sirus ran as fast as he could with the help of his hind legs making his movements faster with every step he took. Sirus heard a whistle coming from behind him and he looked back whilst still running, he saw something bright heading straight towards him. Sirus knew that whatever came towards him with blinding speeds he knew if it hit him it would be all over. He tried to duck his head but a branch hit his head and at the same time he tripped forward and the unknown projectile barely grazed his head as the ice slowly formed around his head making him unconscious.
[Swoosh]
[Splash!]
Sirus fell into a river whilst still unconscious he flowed down the river, into the pitch-black darkness.
"Shit what is wrong with my aim today? This is the second time I missed today? Whatever I felt it grazed it, so it should at least hinder his movements.
