After sending the Prince to his chamber, Katara entered the greenhouse, it's already late but she can't bring herself to sleep. She's thinking about what happened, what Deimos just said, and what he just did. He just killed someone because of her, because someone disrespects her. Too many emotions were swirling inside of Katara. She doesn't know what to feel, the prince wants her. Should she be happy? Or be scared? Knowing that being with him is near the end.
She needed help, she closed her eyes and called Angus. She doesn't know if he exists, but she's hoping that he's inside of her. She knows she can't have spirit but she's still hoping that he's not her hallucinations.
After attempting to summon Angus, he didn't appear. That's why she summoned Fina and thank god she immediately answered. In the blink of an eye, she appears in front of Katara.
After waking up from a coma, she wastes no seconds and immediately summons Fina and others inside of her room. It's the safest place she could hide them, for now, she's preparing their departure as she promised. She will make sure they will go home safe and sound.
"Is there something bothering you M'lady?" Fina ask, she nodded.
"I need someone to talk to." She said fina smile. They both sit at the bench of the greenhouse and then look at the sky. The night is peaceful, but her heart and mind are not.
A long silence reign, Fina didn't speak and she just wait for Katara to open up.
"The prince kill someone today, because of me…" Katara mumbled, she's an assassin killing someone is not big deal for her at all.
"Are you worried?" Fina ask.
"No, he's a prince. I am sure it's no big deal for him to kill someone."
"That's right, then what's the matter, M'lady?"
"It makes me happy…" Katara bit her lower lips, killing is no big deal for her. it doesn't matter, but in fact, someone does it for her? It makes her freaking heart beat fast, it makes her happy. She never met a man before, a man. Who can kill for her, it makes her feel speacial.
Will the prince do that for other noble women? Will he kill for them or only for her?
Katara enters the banquet wearing her uniform, she only sleeps three hours. She stayed up late thinking about what she needed to do and how to face the prince, even though she wanted to lie on the bed she can't because she's starving. That's why she decided to get up and it's been a while and she just realizes that. To her surprise, everyone is looking at her, her forehead knot because of confusion. What the hell is happening? What are they looking at? She took a seat with Celina and Dianna, she can still feel eyes on her.
"What happens?" She whispered as she picked a loaf of bread and then ate it.
"They witness you, in the game. And you have elemental powers." She blinked for few times at what Celina said and then she remembered what happened. That's right, her body in the previous game was covered in fire.
"And you're pretty known because you survive the game, and you are friends with Prince Desmond." She picks a cup of water and then drinks it.
"And you're part of Fiammetta now," Celina added, to her surprise, Katara split the water from her mouth. Celina and Dianna immediately form a disgusted reaction, a good thing that no one is seated in front of her.
Celina pull out a handkerchief and then gave it to Katara, she accepted it and wipe her lips
"I'm sorry. I I just What?! What did I fucking miss?!" She exclaimed.
How is that possible?
"You didn't know?" She shook her head, how could she know?
She finds herself at the Principals office, she looks at her. She was being summoned here.
'Is that true that I am part of Fiammetta House now?" She ask, the principal nodded.
"Please take a seat Ms. Ave." The principal offers her a seat, her office looks normal, full of books. Portraits on the wall, beside her tables there is an open window where the air can blow.
"Too bad and you missed the whole celebration because fall into a coma for days but because we witness your awaken strength we decided to put you on the Fiammetta. Where we think where you belong." She shook her head, no! She's fine being with ordinaries. She doesn't have to move because where is now is the place where she belongs.
"But did you ask for my permission?"
"We don't have to, it's the Academy's rules. Once you have your own elemental magic you will belong where you need to be." Katara took a deep breath, she's not ready for this.
"I think this is the best for you Ms. Ave, I bet you still can't control your power that's why we will do our best to guide you and help you." That's right, she's struggling to control her power but it doesn't mean she can't do it. She can, she has a book.
"We already ready your room, you can move any time soon. You will be part where you belong." She massages her nose bridge. This is bullshit, why did they need to be separated in the first place? The amount of discrimination in this empire is unbelievable and she just realize that. Maybe because she just wanted to be ordinary it didn't really affect her, but what about the other? Ever they are ordinary then they don't have rights?
"I don't understand why we need to be separated from each other? Ordinary or not, we should be in one place. No one should be left behind, how could we create a better place if we are the ones creating hate because of this discrimination? Ordinary or Elemantais has a right to do whatever they want and be belong to whatever place they comfortable with."
"You can't do anything about this Ms. Ave, this is the system ever since you are born. Ordinaries are meant to serve the empire by being a farmer, doctors, etc so are the elementais who fight in the war. We have our different roles, roles that we need to obey."
"But what if I just wanted to be ordinary? And what if there's an ordinary there wanted to be a knight a warrior to protect this empire? Isn't that good if we can do what we want?"
"That's the problem Ms. Ave, we don't do that here. Whatever you want will not save a kingdom or an empire. We do this to obtain peace."
"Fuck peace! I would rather die to fight whatever I want and, than stay in peace and just blindly follow an unjustified system. "
It's true that when something doesn't contradict in your way, you won't notice what's right or wrong.
Katara stood up to the couch where she was seated and then started to move her feet to go out of the office. She slightly bowed her head to the principal before twisting the cold doorknob and opening the door.
As the door open, she saw the crown prince is standing. Their eyes met, but katara choose to ignore him and continue to walk out. She's not ready to face him in a meantime, her heart skip a bit when their eyes met.
She walk to the greenhouse to think, she tried summoning Angus and to her surprise, he appear in a human child form.
"You're hella annoying!" Angus immediately yelled, Katara blink a few times before grabbing Angus.
"Gosh! I thought you don't exist at all! Why don't you answer my call?" She said and hugged him tightly as she can. Angus, transform his body into a worm to get away from Katara's hug he fell to the grown and then transforms himself again into a human child's body.
"Are you going to kill me human? I just regain my energy! Because you're weak body, I can't even move for days. Damn tha sword, that sword is the reason why you lose consciousness for days because it keeps eating your energy."
"What? That's why I lose the last stage of the game? Damn that sword, but what did you do to the sword?"
"I seal it inside of the core, you can use it whenever you can. But for now, let it stay hidden."
Anyway, why did you call me?" As Angus ask, Katara instantly remember the reason, she wanted to ask his opinion.
At the end of the day, Katara doesn't have any choice but to move on to the Fiammetta House. Angus is right, it may really help her to control her elemental magic, especially she's not only controlling one. Even if was against her will, she doesn't have any choice.
