Chapter 7 - CHAPTER 6: Big Plans

"Fuck this. I'm outta here", he said as he quickly scouted his surroundings. Seeing them get closer, he madly dashed towards the side of a building and climbed up.

When he was half way across, he broke the window of one room and entered the room. He shape shifted into the pilot of the previous helicopter and stayed out of sight for a few minutes

When the strike team lost track of him, they returned back to their base.

"Phew... that was pretty close. They could have obliterated me had they found me"

He shape shifted back and went to his house.

"So, what did you go to do?", Dana asked as she poured him a mug of coffee

"Just moving around town, looking for Intel..." he said lying down lazily on the sofa.

"Jesus! How can you be so calm when the situation of things is far from being stable?", she nagged, pushing the mug towards him.

"Don't worry Dana, I can take care of myself. Besides, how can I get answers about myself, about the virus that's spreading, if I don't comb around for Intel. The DX-118 virus is already menacing as it is now and I have to stop it or it might consume Manhattan itself" a hint of anger in his voice.

"What if I can be of help to you?"she raised her brow, slowly sipping her coffee.

"Help?", he asked cocking a brow.

"I've been researching and following the Blacklight incident since it surfaced five years ago" she said, picking up her laptop from the table.

The laptop must have been in sleep mode for it powered on really quickly, displaying an article.

"Here, take a look at this", she said beckoning to him.

On the screen was an article titled, Dr. Michael Roberts Claims to COMBAT THE VIRUS to the very end. HOPE FOR CURE NOT FAR BEHIND

"Dr. Michael Roberts is one of the lackeys of McMullen", she paused, then continued, "There are other doctors and scientists who work for McMullen, but Roberts does most of his dirty jobs, so I figured he might have some information on McMullen, Green and other stuffs you might need" Dana said looking smug.

"Not bad... You know, sometimes you can be really smart" he said scrolling down the page of the article.

"See, I told you I could help. You really need my help" she said emphasizing on the 'really'.

"Hey !... don't get too cocky. Like I said, you're only intelligent sometimes, tsk" he said, closing the laptop.

"I checked his schedule and he would be transported to a lab at South Park tomorrow night", Alex said.

"Nice , but how did you do it. Did you study hacking or programming?"she asked

He smirked cockily before he answered, "I am the internet. I'm gonna go stock up on some groceries. See ya" he said and left the house in his Ferrari.

*SUPERMARKET... north Manhattan*

*Beep* The machine responded.

"You can have your card now", the attendant replied.

"Yeah. Thanks" Alex said and pocketed his card. He looked up for a sec and saw a very interesting piece of news on the television.

-A reporter was at what seemed to be the ruins of a building, as it was all rubnle now.-

'It seems another terrorist mutant just struck in Manhattan. The attacks never seem to cease. We will need a way to stop the mutants menace or the city with those we hold dear will be in serious danger' the reporter said with a tone of gravitas.

"Mutants? What the hell are those?" Alex wondered as he put the groceries in the car.
