Adeline's anger and jealousy were starting to make her heartache a little. But she remembered her connection with Theodore's heart. He would instantly know that she was watching them if she would allow her heart to ache.
So she dug her nails on her palms and tried to focus on the physical pain rather than the pain in her heart. She tried her best to divert her mind from the two of them chatting about something in the dark, under the moonlight.
"Does he always do this? Has he been lying to me saying that he has never even touched another woman? Am I really the only woman in his life?"
Adeline was unable to hear the exact conversation that the two of them were having and the expression that each of them had on their faces. And thus, she easily misunderstood what was going on between them and began to question everything that Theodore had ever told to her till now. Her eyes were making it hard for her to not doubt Theodore.
