Aletta opened her eyes wide, sweat trickling down her forehead with a fast, ragged breath. It was a dream, a dream that felt so real, a dream that made him sweat and breath heaved with fear.
Aletta doesn't dream about ghosts or being chased by wild animals. But this time the dream he had was about himself, life and the ladder. A dream that brought pain and throbbing so strong that it felt like he wanted to hit his head so the pain slowly pierced his head until there was no feeling other than pain that he could accept.
"ahhh!" Aletta screamed muffled her screams into the pillow.
One by one, piece by piece the images that happened about ten years ago came back into his mind. It wasn't until a few minutes later that the pain that had been tormenting him so much had slowly subsided, leaving Aletta controlling her breathing.
