Back inside the city walls, a limping James could be seen using Noah's body as a crutch, while they walked down the streets, both bickering.
"Stop complaining, at least you are not dead", Noah said, with a 'Why are you complaining' expression.
James seemed ready to puke blood at Noah's words. When his voice rang out, "I didn't die; but broke my legs, and received a deep cut on my back, and almost bled to death, from the multiple tiny wounds", he shouted.
"But, at least I was there to save you, and most of your wounds are healed already. Apart from your hurting leg, you are fine", Noah replied.
James wanted to say something, as his mouth opened multiple times, but no words came out.
Eventually he sighed, "Let's go get something to eat, before they close". Nodding at his words Noah increased his walking speed.
Noah had forced James to fight multiple tier 2 magical beasts, while he simply watched behind the fights. James had improved with each fight, developing a way to kill the beasts, as quickly as possible. Though not a professional, Noah had managed to advice him, on some of his useless movements.
Noah had paired him up against two magical beasts at a time, multiple times, and he had been doing well, that was not until Noah decided to pair him up against three.
The result was him almost dying, though Noah had intervened before that happened. He was still too weak for that, maybe when he advanced more inside the lower stage, but currently his max was, two beasts his level, at a time.
Noah had been surprised that, they had not come across a middle stage magical beast, throughout the one sided training.
Beasts at those levels were probably deeper inside the forest.
They had been forced to wait a few hours, to let James heal most of his wounds.
And during that time, Noah had found that everyone that stepped on the path of power, had the innate ability to heal themselves, but at a cost of Mana and stamina, though not nearly as fast as Noah's skill.
They had to return immediately the sun began to set, which leads us to the current scene.
Arriving at a restaurant, Noah and James ate to their fill.
Noah wasn't really hungry, after all, it seemed Mana could also serve as supplements to the body, though only for a while, and also because he had hardly done anything, after their spar.
Though James was, because his body was currently still healing itself. He needed the extra nutrients.
After a bit over twenty minutes, they left. Right after Noah paid their bill, he felt obligated to do so, since he was 'partially' at fault for James condition
Using him as a crutch, they both began walking to James house. The minutes passed as they walked in companionable silence, both thinking their own thoughts.
Until James broke the silence, "You know... I was surprised when you pulled out a staff, the other time. Most people usually opt for weapons like swords, daggers, or long swords.", James said.
Glancing at him, Noah replied, "Oh, it just more or less happened. I didn't choose to master those other weapons because they are overrated, and a staff is really useful, especially when it has blades", He explained.
James burst into laughter when he heard Noah's words, "Overrated!. only the privileged can say that. Those weapons are the most common, simply because techniques that utilize them, are very easy to find. That was the reason I was surprised, coupled with your strange martial art". James explained, after he was done laughing.
Noah's furrowed his brows, he didn't know about stuff like that.
It seemed, he was even more privileged than he thought. "What weapon do you use?", Noah eventually asked.
"From my martial arts display, what type of weapon do you think is suitable?", James asked rasing an eyebrow.
Noah fell into thoughts at that point. James martial art, seemed to be based on agility and flexibility, his fight with the ape, had shown him that.
Though some of his movements resembled that of snake's. After a bit of thought, Noah came to a speedy conclusion. "I don't know", he said with a light shrug, and a shameless smile.
James footsteps came to an abrupt halt, as he glanced at Noah's face, he hadn't expected that answer.
Chuckling at the funny turn if events, James opened his mouth to talk, "I use curved daggers, and I'm really good with them", James replied with a proud smile.
"Nice, I guess", Noah replied with a complicated expression.
Another silence fell on them, as they continued walking, though James broke it again, "You know, I still don't know your elemental affinity", he said.
Noah arced an eyebrow at his words, as he opened his mouth to talk, "Seriously?. I thought you knew". He said.
James simply shrugged his shoulders In response.
"My affinities, are Wind and Lightning", Noah stated.
James steps tried to stop, but Noah didn't allow it. "Se.... seriously?". James stuttered as his eyes were wide open, from surprise.
"Yes.", Noah replied with a bored expression. James was about to say something when, Noah's voice rang out again, "Oh, we have arrived". He said pointing at a yellow building, a few tens of meters from their position, which was James house.
At that point, Noah grabbed James by his clothes, and ran. Flashing right in front of James door. Noah dropped an astonished James. 'What...just happened?', James said In his mind.
Noah's speed was incredible, he had only blinked, then he appeared in front of his house's door.
Glancing at Noah's leaving figure, James wanted to say something, but Noah beat him to it, "Good night, I'll meet you here tommorow", Noah said waving his hand without turning back.
James didn't know what to say at that point. He had a complicated expression on his face, then once again, Noah disappeared. 'Fast!', James shouted in his mind. It seemed Noah had more than he let on.
Flashing on a top of a building, Noah heaved a heavy sigh. "Who are you!?", his voice rang out.
But no reply came. It seemed he was talking to himself, but his mental waves, begged to differ. It was picking someone, or something up, though very slightly, it seemed whoever, or whatever it was, could evade Noah's mental waves, and sight.
After a while, Noah's eyes grew cold, as his aura surged. Muliix covered his skin, lighting up the environment with it's orange radiance.
Then orange spark's began to flicker around Noah's body. He was honestly tired of getting attacked at night.
Immediately he did that, an Intense aura surged, as with that aura, came a voice, "I come in peace!", a male voice sounded.
Noah's eye widened when the aura touched him, But before he could do, or anything, a figure appeared.
The figure was totally black in color, only that there seemed to be tiny multicolored lights in it. Actually the figure resembled the night sky!!!.
The figure had no face, but Noah was sure that the voice came from it, since it raised it's hands, to signify that it wasn't there to cause any harm.
Noah brought out his staff, as he stood in a weird defensive stance. The aura the thing released, was way higher than his level, but he wanted to know who, or what it was.
"Who, are you?", Noah's voice rang out again, he was sure he couldn't beat the figure in a fight but he still held his ground.
"I am not someone you should know about, at least for now". The faceless figure said.
Noah frowned deeply at those words, he had heard a sentence like that.
Bringing down it's arms the figures voice rang out, "It, seems that bi*ch, was right", it said walking back and forth, though not coming near Noah.
"Do you know how many times I had to scan this city to find you?", the figure continued, but it didn't sound angry.
Noah moved back a bit, before his voice rang out, "What do you want from me?", he said.
Turning it's hard towards Noah it replied, "Nothing. I just wanted to be sure", it said.
Noah furrowed his brows, as he opened his mouth to talk, "Sure about what?", he asked, his voice radiating curiosity.
The figure seemed to smile at Noah's question, though it had not facial features, as it's voice rang out, "To be sure that the god of speeds' heir existed of course".
