The grand ball had become the latest gist in the capital with talks of the ball spreading like wildfire. Everyone had quickly moved on from the 'young widow' gossip to talking about the grand ball the emperor had thrown just some nights ago. As usual, many had one or two things to say with regards to the grand duke, but the centre of discussion, for once, was not him. With peering eyes all over, a few people seemed to have caught sight of a woman they claimed had entered into the imperial palace while riding in the grand duke's carriage. Thankfully, it was all 'I heard, they saw' but no one, in particular, had any clue on who the lucky lady was that rode in the duke's carriage or if the rumours were even true. Nonetheless, people were eating up the rumours and snowballing it into something that it wasn't.
Even the maids at the Kudo household could not seem to get enough of the talks.
