Chapter 14 - The symphony that will stay every life with me

So you like the sounds of instruments playing constantly? I get it if traversing through this plane of sound and symphonies could irate most people but even if you don't like music...I doubt your resolve was weak enough to quit so I left another rambling for you but first the reason I came here. This plane was once a place of merriment for the older gods of the planes. A bubbling aura that made you feel warm always filled those with a divine essence in them...even one curse by them. There is a reason for this...Well...An item. A music box that the gods of many pantheons came together to make...A sign of peace they called it...Between themselves maybe but hells that didn't even last long. Hopefully you made it in time for its final echoing chimes and if you did well...You're catching up. For now here is a story about a time when I first heard the song that plays to me in this empty plane. The sonnet of the Sun Paladins...I will get on to my disdain for them in another note don't worry.

It was my first life and it has stayed with me through all of the ones that followed. Usually one of my first memories to return is the first line of it...It was made by a local for my father when I was twelve...It was his sixtieth birthday. The man was no good really with his words but his playing of that lute will forever burn in my memories forevermore along with the first line of this personal favourite,

''Swing your steady sword under the sun's shining sight! Forevermore will will sing great fables of the sun's favoured knights!''

Beautiful in theory...Horrible when you look at their stories written since.

The lute in the song made me weep and I spent a whole lifetime afterwards learning it to perfection. Fifty years in the next and so on. By the time my curse first ended I was able to play it blindfolded by the age of ten...A prodigy keeps some useful tricks. I played to swoon many a beautiful peasant and drunk princesses in my lives...Hell's it even worked on some queens but that did not matter to me if they enjoy as to me it's tone and final line will burn in my memories forevermore,

''And they came home from swinging their steadied sword under the sun's sight! Today we add a new fable to the songs we will sing for the great sun's knights''

In case you are wondering why I hear this and you hear something different is one of the main reasons I love this plane, happy it was left by the indulgent gods that made it. One day when you find me maybe I can bring you here and show the sonnet for yourself. This plane is the lesson today. No matter how bleak your heart may become, no matter how cold and alone you feel in this putrid world. Always let your favourite song set it straight again.
