I finally let go of her and wiped my face, embarrassed of my childish behavior. Miss Granny just smiled warmly and patted my cheek.
I looked to my right and my smile dropped, looking at the man standing with his arms raised, waiting for a hug with a big smile on his face.
I didn't know why but instinctively, my hand went towards him and made contact with his belly, making him bend over. That's right, I punched him in the stomach.
"That's for always coming late to help me," I said as I stared at him.
He winced, "Are you cra—" Before he could complete his sentence, I wrapped my arms around his neck, making him freeze. "And this is for always coming for me regardless." After a few moments of surprise, his hands came behind me as he patted me back. It was so awkward for someone who was asking for a hug so confidently.
