Now the Central Hall was a great chamber in the Underground Oubliette of slavery, which was bare in the heart, but the stone walls were lined with torches and lattices. There were columns of pillars on all ends, adorned by fiery sculptures of faces that were akin to man and dragon.
The art thereof was enticing to gaze at, yet terrible enough by expression, to seem nearly alive, that they would continue to remain in one's memory until the darkness of night would beckon nightmares from the very sights thereof.
