Chereads / Maid to love you: The boss and the maid / Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Kiss

Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: First Kiss

"Why are you leaving?" I ask. She smiles before speaking.

"After I teach you all the chores, I'm resigning. You know I'm old enough to do such things. You can do even better," she says. I feel sad when I hear that. How I wish I hadn't come here. I sigh as I look at her walking towards my room.

"Here's your room," she says while opening the door. My mouth drops open as I see the room. It looks like a master's bedroom. I wonder how my boss's room looks like. My room is better than my own and it looks so fancy and elegant.

"Woah, is this a maid's room?" I say in amazement.

"Yes, this is your roo—" Aunt Vaness doesn't finish her sentence as we hear a loud noise coming from downstairs.

"It must be him, he's drunk again. Come on," she says and I follow her. My heart pounds as I walk. What if he's a monster and tries to harm me? What if he's a vampire who wants my blood? What if... I shake my head as I see a good-looking man lying on the ground. I am stunned by his handsome face. "Woah, he's handsome," I say inside my head.

He reeks of alcohol. Auntie and I carry him to his room. I glance around as I walk. Even his room is as gorgeous and elegant as he is. I can't stop myself from staring at him. I am still stunned by his appearance as Aunt Vaness hands me a wet towel to wipe his face. As I am wiping his face, he stirs and it stops me.

I gaze at how perfect he looks even in this state. He's even attractive while drunk. How can a man like him look so perfect? How much more when he's not drunk? Ahh, I'm so done with this. He's too perfect to handle.

"Kevin?" Aunt Vaness gently shakes him, but he remains asleep.

"Let him rest for a bit," she says. I stand up as he wakes up and grabs my hands. He slowly gets up and looks at my face.

"I love you," he says, surprising me. We just met, how can he love me so quickly? I can feel my cheeks turning red as he continues to hold my face with his perfect and smooth hands.

"Me?" I ask, and he nods, still smiling. I feel so confused as I look at Auntie. She's laughing.

"Let him be, he'll soon fall asleep again, don't worry," she says and I feel relieved.

He keeps looking at me. "Don't you love me anymore?" he says as tears begin to fall. Aunt Vaness goes downstairs to get something. I am at a loss for words, but then he lets go of me.

"I don't know what you're talking about, Sir," I say, finding my opportunity to get up, but he pulls me towards him. My eyes widen as I feel him getting closer. No, he's kissing me.

Our lips meet. Butterflies flutter inside me, and I am shocked. My eyes widen as he kisses me. Then he looks at me, smiling as if nothing happened.

I am about to say something when he passes out and falls onto the bed.

I hold my lips, my heart pounding so fast. How could he kiss me like that? That was my first kiss, and he stole it just like that? I stand up and head towards the door.

I stand up, and Aunt Vaness goes into his room while I head downstairs.

"Is something wrong, Gaia?" she asks me. I shake my head.

"Did he kiss you?" I am surprised.

"By any chance... Did you..."

"No, he may be broke up with his girlfriend," she utters.

"Ah, I see. But that was my first kiss. It was supposed to be romantic, right, Auntie?" She chuckles as she looks at me.

"Maybe there's a reason why it happened like that," she says and smiles at me. But no matter where I look, I can't forget how sexy and perfect he was. That kiss. It was supposed to be romantic, but I never thought someone like him would steal it like that.

It was my first day of work...

Morning comes. Aunt Vaness and I wake up early to cook some soup for Sir Kevin. I don't know if he remembers what happened last night, but he still stole my first kiss. I sigh and am about to add salt when she stops me.

"Don't," she says. I look at her, frowning.

"Why?"

"He doesn't like salt. He doesn't want salt in his food," she says. I simply nod. We are chatting when suddenly Sir Kevin comes downstairs. I look away, avoiding his gaze. He looks fine now and it seems like he doesn't remember a thing.

"Good morning, Kevin," Aunt Vaness greets him casually. He sits down at the dining table. I remain silent.

"Good morning, Sir Kevin," I say, and he looks at me with cold eyes.

"And who is she?" he asks, and Auntie gives him my resume. He looks at me from head to toe. Is he a pervert? Why is he looking at me like that?

"Did Dexter hire you?" he asks. I nod, smiling.

"So, is this your first time working as a maid?" I nod again.

"So, what did you do before you came here?" He's worse than I thought. He has so many questions.

I take a deep breath as I look at him. "I was a saleslady. I worked at a mall, Sir," I lie.

"I see. Did you teach her, Auntie, about her job? I heard you're leaving, right?" he suddenly brings up that topic.

"Kevin, you're all grown up now. I will teach her about her job so she can look after you, okay?" Aunt Vaness says. I just look at them and it seems like they are very close to each other.

"When are you leaving, Auntie?"

"Tonight," she says, surprising me even more. I can't do this job without her. I can't even cook a proper meal. I stop myself from talking as I clench my fists.

"You should do it like this," Auntie says to me as she ties Sir Kevin's necktie. I just watch, but I notice that he keeps staring at me. I try to tie the necktie, and I can feel his heartbeat as my hands lean on his chest.

"I'm sorry, Sir," I say, but he just looks at me without any emotion.

"You should do it like this, okay?" she says. I nod while watching how she does it. The atmosphere feels intense. He keeps staring at me.

Wait... "Does he remember what happened last night?!" I ask myself in surprise.

Sir Kevin then leaves. I breathe a sigh of relief. "Finally, I can breathe now," I say.

"Are you feeling alright?" she asks me.

"I was just surprised by a man like him with such an attitude."

"He's just like that, but he's a good kid and a good man." It seems like she knows him very well.

"Come here," Auntie says as she walks. She gives me a tour of the house so that I don't get lost. She also hands me the blueprint of the house for me to familiarize myself with it.

"Every Saturday and Sunday morning, he doesn't eat breakfast. He always goes to his fitness room and does his exercises. At night, he always goes to nightclubs to release his stress. You have to accompany him whenever he goes." Auntie explains. I nod, but there's still so much for me to learn.

"On weekdays, he's busy at work. Like you saw earlier, he's a busy man. Don't forget to cook his breakfast and give him his medication," I wonder what those medications are for?

"Can I ask a question, Auntie?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"Why does he have to take those medications? Is he ill or something?" I ask out of curiosity.

"Those medications are for his trauma. When he was a kid, he always dreamt about dead people, and then on the very same day, his father died. After his father's death, he always had nightmares about dead people surrounding him. You have to give him medication every day," she explains. I nod.

"I will," I say with a smile.

"Ah, one more thing, don't go to that room, okay? Go there when he told you to go, but never go inside that place without his permission, okay?" I nod my head, but curiosity surrounds my mind. What's inside that room? Is there something special inside that room? We headed down, I looked around and I can't even familiarize the place. I sigh. "This is impossible for me to familiarize this huge place.

"Do you remember what I tell you?"

"Yes. He doesn't like salty foods, he goes gym every Saturday and Sunday. He's always busy on weekdays, I have to go with him whenever he'd go except to his office. Give him medicine every day. And one more thing, I can't go to that room without his permission," I said without even breathing. She smiles at me.

"That was fast," she complimented me.

"But, Aunty?"

"Yes, what is it?"

"I think, I can't familiarize this place," I said as I massage my head as I am looking at the blueprint she gives me.

"I know it takes time, but I know you can do it," she said. I think she's right. I can do this and after this, I will get my job back.

"Aunty, how long did you work here?" I suddenly ask.

To be continued...
