What is an Alpha? What makes an Alpha an Alpha?
Alrik has been asking himself this ever since he opened his eyes and saw the skill there in his status. What makes an alpha?
Dominance? Power? Control?
No.
The answer is compassion, empathy, and understanding. As his fingers clutched on the massive trap that was hurting the poor dragon, he felt this deep seethed determination and sense of duty. The little one was hurt. All he could do was help! "Don't worry, I'll get you out of there -" He put all his strength on his arms and hands, pulling the trap apart with his bare hands was not going to be easy, but he had an idea in his mind that would certainly help - Observe the metal!
[Dragon Proof Metal
Durability: 900/1000
Description: A turquoise metal made from unknown techniques, capable of enduring the extreme heat of dragon fire and the bashing and breaking of strong dragons.
Abilities: Fire Resistance (V), Impact Resistance (III)
Weaknesses: ???, ???, ???]
'Weaker impact resistance but a high fire resistance...' Alrik looked up towards the big boy and emitted a vibe of 'Everything's going to be okay' with his [Alpha] skill to calm down the hurt the Crimson Goregutter before concentrating and releasing the largest blast of intent as he could. A single message echoed through the entire island as his [Alpha] skill consumed all his MP to send the message of [Help] to every single dragon upon this island. He started to work on what he could do to help the big boy, starting by looking around for any plants that may be used to make antidotes for the poison running through the dragon's veins.

He was already going to do this, but having a reward for doing it has made him even more eager to save the poor dragon. His hand carefully touched and scratched the scales of the big beast, finding its rough and thick hide a little strange to touch but also interesting. 'Okay... Herbs.' He used [Observe] on many plants, as many as he could, even on mushrooms and even rocks, insects, and smaller animals, all to find something that coils help. By that time, there was this sensation of blazing fire within his chest that made him aware, aware of dragons approaching.

Many dragons had come from his call. They felt deep within their bones the need to come and help the Alpha that called them, so it was a surprise when they found a small Alpha, smaller than many of them, but still an Alpha. 'Hm... Acid might work.' He looked over at where the Changewing was hiding and used [Alpha] to convey the message he wanted: [Shoot the iron], and soon enough, the dragon appeared out of thin air (Surprising a few other dragons) before it threw a blob of acid at the turquoise metal, which melted a little slower than he thought it would! The moment it had melted enough, he pulled the iron with all his strength and heard as it shattered, the bear-like trap had broken, and although there were some shards in the flesh of the big boy, one of the worst things had gone! "Okay, I want your help... Little ones help me find flowers, every single flower you can bring me. I'll take it. You, big Gronkles, gather rocks for the sick one here... Hotburple, you can eat the scraps if you can." Casually ordering the dragons, Alrik watched in amazement as they followed his requests easily, with the Gronkles going off to get the Crimson Goregutter some rocks, the Monstrous Nightmare going to get fish, the Terrible Terrors going to get flowers for him (Since he wants them for something), and the single Deadly Nadder alongside the Changewing could only watch.
Until he put them to work.

[Alpha Lvl 1 > Alpha Lvl 2]
[Alpha Lvl 2:
Dragon Commanding (Lvl 1)
Dragon Empathy (Lvl 2)]
He immediately was bombarded with the feelings of the nearest dragon to him, the Crimson Goregutter, which was this overwhelming gratitude and happiness. There was pain there, obviously, but there was also this small sensation of vertigo mixed with the need to sleep that was growing stronger and stronger. Alrik got the Deadly Nadder helping him to take off the scrap metal from the wound on the Crimson Goregutter's leg, pulling it with their beak-like maw full of teeth before throwing the scrap to the open mouth of the Hotburples that was awaiting for their meal. This actually counted as him helping the dragon heal, seeing as if he didn't take these scarps off, the wound would heal wrong.
[You've received the Loyalty of the Crimson Goregutter - Lvl 80!]
[Would you like to give him a name?]
'Hm...' A name, something that makes this dragon unique and powerful - Oh, right! Looking at the big guy, he felt from deep within this sense of duty? Loyalty. The concept of loyalty, as a feeling from a dragon.

"Your name is now Kamalu." The name comes from Mmaagha Kamalu, a sword that belongs to the Igbo god of war Kamalu from the Igbo Mythology. This sword glows red when people with evil intentions are close by, and it can cause tremors when struck on the ground. It gifts mere mortals victory in battle. It is a fitting name, seeing as the dragon was very red and his prowess is not to be underestimated. "Now, Kamalu, Sleep." Kamalu understood his words and let his Alpha do what it had to do. He lowered himself until his stomach had hit the ground and soon after let sleep consume his enormous frame. Once asleep, Alrik started to work on what he could do, now that he had knowledge of the herbs that could maybe help detoxify the poison used on the dragon! Thanks to his new knowledge, when he used the [Observe] skill on Kamalu again, he got this:
[Kamalu - Lvl 80]
Status: Tired, unconscious, poisoned (Minor Blue Oleander/Dragon Root Poisoning), Minor Bleeding.
Description: Tired but happy, Kamalu is aware that his Alpha will help and heal him. He trusts you enough to comfortably lie down, vulnerable to your whims and wishes.]
'Fuck.' He knew what those were now - Blue Oleander is a short bushy plant with stunning blue flowers, Dragons are allergic to them, mortally allergic. Each flower is complete with five separated petals of equal size. The leaves are ovate and end in an acute tip. In the center, there is a short yellow stem for the purpose of pollination. They are usually seen planted in large clusters, sometimes stretching for field upon end, suggestive of a high pollination rate when in close proximity to one another. The Blue Oleander is the food of choice of the Scauldron, with which they get the venom that is used to cure the dragons who were exposed to the flowers. Despite being affected by the flower, Terrible Terrors appear to be attracted to them.
Wait - Oh no.
"...fuck." he hopes none of the little ones he sent to get flowers caught a Blue Oleander...
Dragon Root is a very potent behavior modifier for most dragon species, except Gronckles. In its natural state, it causes uncontrolled rage in most dragons. It is also used by the Dragon Hunters after being refined, concentrated, and having arrows dipped in it. This gives it a different, more serious effect: the smallest cut creates a serious wound that makes the injured dragon dizzy, and ill. It impairs flight to the point where a dragon hit by one of these arrows will fall from the sky unconscious, depending on the severity of the hit. The antidote to make an antidote is necessary: fresh water, bitterweed, fire fern, and purple oleander.
When mixed together, they make this purple liquid that is purple and will make the dragon go a little Berserker while they heal. Thankfully, Kamalu is only slightly hurt by the poison of the Dragon Root, so as long as he keeps him well, it'll go on its own...
But the Blue Oleander poison? That's going to be painful on his body while it heals because although he is a big dragon, the poison will make his hide itchy and he will be in distress for two days until the poison leaves his system. "I could maybe make an antidote? Need Scauldron poison for that, though..." He could use the toothache plant to make a numbing drink so Kamalu doesn't have to feel itchy the whole time! "Yeah, this one's more feasible..."
For now, though, he needs clothes!
