Chapter 293 - Howl For Me [#2]

[Day 10]

After the whole book debacle, Yoichi seemed to be a little nicer to him? Yeah, nicer was the right word.

It's just... Yoichi's way of being nice was weird.

"Here, weak guy- Got you these weird rocks you were looking at yesterday by the lake, what even are these?" He gave him the crystals he was observing, they were on the other side of the Buddy Lake when he saw them and they were perfect for a spell he wanted to make, so he accepted them and gave Yoichi a bottle of a grey liquid as a compensation. "The fuck's this?"

"Moonshine."

"Huh!?"

"Booze."

"Tch, i know what moonshine is!" Yoichi pouted: "Anyways, thanks Kitty."

That's also something- Yoichi started calling him kitty? It was weird, but seeing how he called Scoutmaster Yui "Jigglypuff", Scoutmaster Yoshinori "Brokeback Sheriff", and Scoutmaster Aiden "Buttcheeks", Akira just assumed this was a quirk of Yoichi's personality: Giving nicknames to others show how he likes them? Apparently that's the case because Yoshinori told him the story of how Yoichi called Goro "Silver Gramps" once and Yui spilled her drink on Aiden which prompted him on getting changed.

Yoichi was also very used to nudity- He would go around naked sometimes, thankfully Akira could ignore that. He has been practicing daily his basic spells, he was a very talented witch when it came to spell creation, modification, alteration  and deconstruction! He could change spells to fit whatever he wants them to do as long as the capability of doing what he wants is part of the original spell- If not? Creating the spell isn't a bad idea either. Lately he has been practicing his elemental based spells, water and earth are easy to do and not be found while air and fire are a little harder seeing as air makes too much noise and fire is too bright! 'Besides, i don't like fire...' Akira has a righteous fear of fire, the flames just make him very uncomfortable and sometimes even give him panick attacks. Tonight was a full moon and Akira was running low on Moonwater for a spell he wanted to try, the large property of Camp Buddy alongside the few members that stay awake that late at night makes it easy to cast spells in the brink of midnight!

He didn't account for was the curious wolfboy who wanted to see what the fuck the weird kitty was up to- He didn't expect to see him take off his clothes and go skinny dipping in the lake! 'Well, not that unusual, I've done that several times already.' What surprised him, however, was how the lake suddenly became a mirror and reflected perfectly the silver light of the moon as he bathed, making the scene more mystical than it should be. Yoichi grew up around the woods, he has seen many weird things that he couldn't explain, so Akira just turned into another one of them. And one of Yoichi's flaws was his curiosity.

And that was how Akira got a stalker wolfboy.

[Day 15]

Yoichi wasn't dumb- He wasn't smart, but he wasnt dumb!

He noticed how Aki would simply vanish sometimes, he'd just be there and suddenly he wasn't. Also, that black cat of his was always following him whenever he goes! Yuki has taken a like to the cat- Well, compared to the other small creatures she hunts, the fact that the cat is still alive proves that she likes him enough. "Where is he..." Another thing is that Weird Kitty is suspiciously good at navigating and knowing where he was inside the forest surrounding camp, he has even shown how good he is at stealth by escaping Yuki's node when he took her to follow him through the forest! Taking a whiff of the air, Yoichi tried to smell Akira's earthly scent, but as it was earthly it completely melded with the scent of the forest around.

He could hear a sound in the distance.

Approaching, he saw a figure covered in shadow holding out a large fruit to a smaller figure, the large figure bowed before its body faded into moths that flew away, the smaller figure was none other than Akira with his black cat sitting on his shoulder: "Let's go back Mr. Riffles." Yoichi was pretty fucking surprised by this- He has seen that figure before, he has heard urban legends about this giant shadow man who appears suddenly before you and watches you from the trees, Yoichi himself has seen the shadow man and almost shat himself! Now Akira just stood before the creature and smiled at it- He's braver than Yoichi gives him credit for. Following him back to camp was easy, Yuki and him had an easier time following him this time around because he wasn't hiding himself and he was carrying this fruit thing? It looked like a giant watermelon, but orange with stripes of green.

When he got to camp, Akira just rolled the giant fruit towards the mess hall, where he knocked on the door and waited until Buttcheeks opened it- "Oh my gods, you really found it!" Yoichi watched as Aiden was hugged by the half naked Aiden who excitedly went for the giant fruit: "And to think I'd see a Giant Orange Melon in my life~ These are so rare! Where did you find it!?" Weird Kitty shrugged and pointed at the forest before leaving Aiden to his musings and kissing the giant ball of melon orange thingy.  With Yuki beside him he was able to easily follow Akira until he got to the cabin they shared- "So, who was that weird big shadowman thing?" Blunt and direct to the point, Yoichi pretended and tried to forget how he almost shat his pants the first time he saw the thing! "Rogers? He's nice." It has a name!? Wait, it's nice? "You met 'im before?" The only answer he got was a shrug from the boy before he went back to his book, this time he was sketching something on the journal he got from Jigglypuff yesterday!

"Cool i guess." Only taking a closer look at the thing he was writing did Yoichi notice it was a circle? With letters all around it? "Huh, what's that?" Akira met his eyes and for a moment Yoichi swears he could see a small white skull on his dark pupil, he must've been thinking things because Kitty just asked: "You sure you wanna know?" I mean, duh! When something makes him curious, he wants to know why! Contrary to his expectations, Kitty just raised his hand and bit on his finger until he bled, he gave him bloody hand to Yoichi who hesitantly took it only to feel a prickly sensation as something made his thumb bleed a little! Their blood touched and Yoichi felt this warm sensation flow through all his body before Kitty said: "Promise never to say, allure, or otherwise reveal intentionally my secrets?" Yoichi, confused, shrugged and answered with an "I guess." Before their blood fucking glowed!

It was an amazing sight to see.

Their blood dried and cracked before turning to this black dust that was blown away by an invisible wind- kitty looked satisfied as he simply said: "Magic."

So It turns out that magic, monsters, creatures  of the dark and all mhths were all real in a way or another. Akira himself was someone who could use magic, as could his whole family, Yoichi didn't know why he was so attracted by the whole supernatural debacle- Akira knew Yoichi would've found out about the supernatural sooner or later anyway, because Akira could feel the pull on his soul, the pull that he felt towards Yoichi wasn't something easy to distinguish? He never felt something like that, so he got curious and decided to study this pull, so that's why he kept him close.

"So monsters are real?"

"Some of them."

Yoichi shivered. "Which- which ones!?"

Akira stopped to think for a second: "Of the ones i know... Werewolves, Vampires, Rougarous- which is a variant of werewolf that is created by a witch- Ghosts, Nymphs, Gnomes, Fey, Fairies, Dryads, Dragons-"

"Holy shit- Dragons are real!?"

"I mean, the majority is dead, but there are still some dragons out there."

Yoichi's eyes had this soft glow of amazement in them- He loved Dragons ever since he was kid- But then he met Yuki and started loving dogs, wolves, and canines in general. "Wait, Werewolves are a thing!? That's so cool!" Akira couldn't burst Yoichi's bubble and say that Werewolves were being prosecuted like Witches and were hunted down to the brink of extinction by humans and that the majority of them has gone into hiding: "Yeah, it's pretty cool." He saw how Yoichi's brain started spinning at the implication of Werewolves, so he asked many questions that some Akira didn't have answer to: "Does the bite make people Werewolves?" Akira shook his head and started explaining what he knew of Werewolf Magic and Turning: "No, like, the bite is more part of the process and not the finishing touch, the bite is one of the steps- first you need to be initiated into the Pack of Werewolves you wanna join, since you gotta join a pack if you wanna become a werewolf, then you gotta do a bunch of rituals and one of them is the bite, and in the end at the next full moon you do a last ritual that turns you into a werewolf."

Yoichi had sat down by then, looking at Akira with what could only be described as childish wonder and curiosity: "And, what's the thing you called? Garouwhatever."

"Ah, Rougarou... The Rougarou is a variant werewolf that is transformed by a witch instead of a Werewolf." Akira nervously looked over his fingers, a little anxious about talking about witch things to Yoichi: "You see, a witch can do every single type of magic that has ever existed, even those only a few species can do- I can imitate the fire of a dragon's breath, the transformative bite of a werewolf and vampire, that, by the way, is the way that a werewolf of vampire sends their magic to someone's body so they can become a werewolf or vampire." Yoichi frowned a little at that, confused about something: "But the Rougarou is different because they become linked to the witch that creates them- Like the moon controls the tides and the wolves, the witch controls the Rougarou."

"Huh-" Yoichi pondered for a second, before saying with a large grin: "Do it."

"...what?"

"Make me into a Garouwhatever."

"Rougarou? But, you'd need to keep me alive, because if i die, you die! That's how the magic works, you'd become my guardian."

"So? I'd get to be a werewolf, so that's cool."

"...alright, I'll do it."
