Leskai (Las-kay) Trihepery (Tri-Re-Pary) was never.
Never accepted.
Never loved.
Never happy.
Never allowed to cry.
Not allowed to eat what his owner didn't give to him.
Not allowed to drink what his owner didn't give to him.
Not allowed to look at his owner.
His life was to serve his owner, and his owner was his father. The man who brought to this world, you see, Leskai is a Half-Elf, a rare hybrid between a human and an elf, getting all the best qualities of both races! While Elves have a greater lifespan, humans have a great talent for magic but do not think that Elves don't also have their unique form of magic, for they do. Spirit Magic is something every Elf is born with, a spirit companion that will follow them through their whole life and always help them with everything they ask or need.
Each Elf is born with a different spirit companion, it can vary from the elemental spirits of Water, Fire, Wind, Earth, Nature, Light, Shadows, and Lightning, to the rare Non-Elementals like Time, Space, Healing, and Divine.
A spirit companion can also get stronger as the Elf gives him mana, the normally Lesser Spirit evolves into greater versions of itself, a great example is a Lesser Fire Spirit can become a Fire Spirit, a Great Fire Spirit, a Salamander, and at last an Ifrit! The same thing happens to all other spirits too.
A Lesser Earth Spirit can become an Earth Spirit, a Great Earth Spirit, a Gnome, and at last a Golem.
A Lesser Water Spirit can become a Water Spirit, a Great Water Spirit, an Undine, and at last an Aquarium.
A Lesser Wind Spirit can become a Wind Spirit, a Great Wind Spirit, a Cyclone, and at last a Typhoon.
A Lesser Nature Spirit can become a Nature Spirit, a Great Wind Spirit, a Nymph, and at last a Dryad.
A Lesser Light Spirit can become a Light Spirit, a Great Light Spirit, an Angel, and at last a Seraphin.
A Lesser Shadow Spirit can become a Shadow Spirit, a Great Shadow Spirit, a Wraith, and at last a Legion.
A Lesser Lightning Spirit can become a Lightning Spirit, a Great Lightning Spirit, a Thunder, and at last a Storm.
Things get more complicated with Non-Elemental Spirits... You see, they are harder to evolve and only those who they let them see them are the ones they trust or are curious about, sometimes they appear when the Elf uses some high-level magic with them to assist on their casting. Most of them are very proud spirits, for they are very strong in their own right.
There are some records about their appearances as well as some seem limits of their abilities, an Elf with a Time Spirit as their companion was able to stop time for 10 whole seconds, where everyone who challenged them to a fight fell to the ground, completely dead.
An Elf with a Space Spirit as their companion was able to teleport to miles and miles away, as well as creating a black hole to devour an entire kingdom.
An Elf with a Healing Spirit was able to bring back from the dead about 30 people who had died recently, however, it was noted that the Spirit was not entirely a Healing Spirit, which created the tales about another special spirit type: A Divine Spirit. It was never confirmed if the Elf had as a companion a Divine Spirit because the Elf mysteriously vanished from sight about 1,000 years ago and they were never found, it's obvious that he did not survive for Elves live up to 500 years at max. Sometimes those Elves tend to go on adventures, and that was when Leksin was captured by humans and sold as a slave to a nobleman, he raped her and she gave birth to a beautiful half-elf boy with golden eyes.
Elves believe that eye and hair color represents the spirit they are born with, and most of the time it was true! Elves with red eyes or red hair were born with a Fire Spirit, blue eyes or blue hair, green-silver eyes or green-silver hair, brown/yellow eyes brown/yellow hair, and other hair and eye colors for other spirits... She remembers the tale about an elf with golden eyes who could bring back the dead, she smiled and protected the boy with her life, until she died protecting him.
Leskai only knew his name and age, the last thing he learned from his mother was that his surname was Trihepery and that he was a beautiful boy, he quickly learned that the world was not a great place for him, he tried to escape a lot and most times he was brought back and beaten black and blue, sometimes even hit with swords and daggers, until he learned to cooperate and not to do anything he was not ordered to do. Because of his handsome face, he was hated by the son of the nobleman who had raped his mother, so his face was destroyed completely by orders of the son of the nobleman, deep cuts and slashes, they were also ordered to burn his face with a torch so he could never be healed again.
That night his wounds didn't heal like they used to. He didn't know why but his wounds would heal faster than others, he always felt like someone was looking at him, observing him, he had the feeling of being observed every single day but could not see who was observing him. One day, he was sold to another noble, who differently from his previous owner, was a little gentler... Well, he did not try to rape him, don't worry, he still a virgin! That's the reason he was sold, he kinda cut off the guy's dick by biting it... That's why his eyes and tongue were cut out, he could no longer speak not see anything! But he learned how to see using his magic, he simply willed it to do what he needed, and after another 5 years of servitude, his owner granted him freedom which was more of a curse than a blessing.
He had no job, no money, and didn't know what to do! Most humans hated elves and most elves hated humans, so you know where this was going. He was half of both, so he was rejected by both humans and elves, he could not get a job and everyone hated his face... Until one day he decided to join the army, there was a test to see if anyone joining had an affinity for magic, and participated and discovered then that he could use Healing Magic. He was placed on the healer division and was instructed and taught how to use magic and what he would do, he would heal every single soldier that came to his tent or would follow the soldiers to war and heal them on the battlefield, or he could also go to the battlefield after the armies left too, and rescue any ally he could.
After using healing magic for the first time, he met his Spirit Companion, a Divine Spirit of Healing, named Asclepios. He remembers their first conversation, which was like this:
"Finally! You finally used fucking healing magic, I can now communicate with you before I had to use other ways, but now I can! Rejoice, mortal, the Divine Spirit of Healing, me, the great Asclepios is here!"
"Huh?"
"Are you deaf? No! You are blind! And mute, so just think and I will hear, okay?"
"Okay..."
"Now, let me tell you what you will do: Place your hands on your face, and use healing magic, let me do the rest."
He did as instructed and he felt a great amount of pain as his eyes and tongue grew back, the first thing he did was to put a bag on his head and open three holes on it, he didn't want others to see his face, well, his previous face had a mask on all the time so others didn't know his face was fucked. He felt ugly and naked without his mask, but it felt very uncomfortable now that he could properly feel his face and a bag was the best thing he could afford for a temporary mask and he felt comfortable with it, so it was fine.
He exercised, he wouldn't be able to fight for his life when he needs it if his body isn't in shape! He still had scars on his whole body from all the time he spent being a slave and he couldn't hide it, so others knew about it, most of the knights didn't care because they were also commoners but some of the noble knights felt disgusted at him for that. He hated them, but he couldn't bring himself to act on the things he felt because he was a coward, a complete coward, his spirit had been broken and rebuilt on the mindset of a slave and he couldn't fully be himself again... Not anymore.
One year after he joined the army, he completed 25 years, he still had silver hair and golden eyes, but he never let anyone see that he was a Half-Elf, so most people didn't know that and he preferred it that way. Within that year in the army, he learned how to fight with a sword and more healing magic, but not only he was taught healing magic but he also learned Spirit Healing Magic with Asclepios. All those 24 years, Asclepios was with him, using his Mana to heal his body and in the end, he became THE Divine Healing Spirit. He went from Lesser Divine Healing Spirit to Divine Healing Spirit, to Great Divine Healing Spirit, to Panacea, to Asclepios. However, Leskai didn't know how to use Spirit Magic, so he couldn't bring people from the dead yet. What he can use are two different types of Spirit Magic and normal magic only one, he can use Normal Healing Magic, Spirit Healing Magic, and Divine Spirit Magic.
Divine Spirit Magic was very vague and powerful magic that could be mixed with other Spirit Magics, making them stronger, so together with Asclepios, Leskai was able to create a red liquid mixing water and his blood, this liquid was considered a healing potion that could be used by others! With that potion, he was able to get some money for himself, most of his money went to the orphanage he lived in because he went to live in an orphanage and helped children there too, he just couldn't help it! When he saw someone sad, he had the urge to make them happy, he didn't want to feel like he feels all the time! Also, seeing people happy makes him happy too, Asclepios always says that's something bad but he thinks is something good right? He is making people happy after all.
He felt needed, as someone needed him for something... Like he had a purpose in life.
Then the Orc Nation attacked. A war broke with the Orcs, they were a war race after all, so they loved to fight. It was almost traditional for Orcs and humans to fight every q0 or so years, it made them stronger or some dumb shit. Leskai didn't care, he didn't like war and death made him remember his mother, how she died in his arms bleeding out after being tortured by that man... So he always, after every single battle, went to the battlefield and used his healing magic to save the life of humans and orcs alike.
He didn't care, he just didn't want to see anyone dying.
One day he was doing the same when he saw a big orc, the biggest orc he ever saw, lying on the ground and bleeding... He quickly went to help, poured down all his potions on the guy, and used his healing magic... Yet, he was dying. Leskai panicked and continued to heal him when Asclepios said: "We can't save him, you don't know how to resurrect the dead with Divine Healing Spirit Magic yet!" He ignored the spirit and kept healing the orc, some of the humans and orcs he had healed were watching him do that, he used all his mana and healed... So much that the ground below him began to bloom in grass and flowers, he was bringing life and joy to the battlefield of death and pain! In the end, he successfully fought against death and resurrected the dying Orc. He was proud of himself but that didn't last long.
He was imprisoned.
Humans reported him for not letting the enemy die, when he was brought to court, he admitted to healing the orcs because that was what he do, heal. He refused to kill any enemy and only learned how to fight to protect himself, he was declared a traitor by the human race and locked away, and months later he was brought out of his cell when several of the healers died in the war. He was dragged to war against his will and forced to heal every soldier until they came.
A group of 6 orcs came and killed every single soldier around him, they took off his chains and brought him to their kingdom for some reason he had yet to know... And that was when he let the king of orcs, the same orc he resurrected.
After exposing his face to all the orcs around and hugging him to hide it when he blushed, the orc king made him tell his name to get his bag back, and after saying his name: "Leskai... Leskai Trihepery." He realized... No one ever asked his name. Well, some people asked, but most didn't care to ask. They just would call him Mask-Guy or Masked, no one bothered to ask his name and this was the first thing this man asked him, well, technically asked for his name in a very subtle way.
