Chapter 24 - Chapter 24

Simon came into the dorm, a little worn out despite the fact that he had been in the hospital hours ago. He saw Ian sitting in front his computer, Jasper lying on his bed and facing up, carter and loid on their phones.

As soon as he came inside, Everyone got up and looked at him, the next moment they encircled him asking how he was. "I'm fine, I was just bitten by a wild animal" he said. "Ooh, can we take a look at the bite marks?" Loid asked. "Sure, it's her-" Simon didn't complete the statement as he was shocked that the was no bite mark on his shoulder when he rolled up his short sleeves.

Anyway, let's go take lectures, and then we can talk about how I will beat y'all again at game night" Carter chipped in.

"I won't be going" Ian said. " This hospital incident gives me an excuse to ditch classes" Simon also said. Carter looked at Jasper since he hadn't said anything. Jasper turned to the side, pulling his blanket over his head.

"Huff--" Carter rolled his eyes. "Let's go babe" Loid Said pulling carter out of the room. The three remained on their beds for a while and then Ian carried a bag he had priorly packed some stuff into. "I need to go out of campus today" Ian said as he exited the room.

Sometime later....

"You are also like me, aren't you?" Jasper muttered. "Huh!" Simon looked confusedly at Jasper who was now sitting on his bed. "Your bite marks disappeared like they were never there. I believe you" Jasper continued. "Really!" Simon replied. "Yeah, although it's been a short time, you haven't used your glasses since. So how did you die" Jasper asked jokingly.

"Die?" Simon questioned. "What, you didn't die?" Jasper asked, looking surprised "I was only bitten by a strange animal on my way to the police department" Simon frowned and recounted his experience to Jasper. "Just that? Guess we're not that same then" Jasper sighed. " What did you mean by dying? How are you still alive after dying?" Simon also asked. Jasper also told his experience to Simon.

Simon covered his mouth in surprise. "Unbelievable but, we would be stupid to not know what we are by now. Ian is not Innocent, he has some serious explanation to do" said simon. Then he contjnued with a serious expression "But still.... with your first time taken like that, shouldn't we celebrate?" Simon smiled as he looked towards Jasper. The expression that appeared on Jasper's face was one as though he had stepped on shit.

"Since you are hungry, Let's go grab some food" Simon said has he got up, ready to move out. Jasper also decided to move out, but as he reached the centre of the room he turned to a blur and in the next moment, he was back to the side of his bed. He started sweating, he could have died right then. He looked at his skin as it went from dark red to red and then to his normal skin colour. He felt like he was being burned alive, when the sunlight touched him. He didn't feel like that because the light never reached his side of the room. Moreover his stomach was rumbling, he looked at Simon and a drool escaped his mouth

Simon understanding the situation, ran out of the room. He wasn't afraid since Jasper couldn't leave the room.

Minutes later....

Jasper looked to a corner of the room and saw a rat there. Luckily, there was no sunlight on this side of the room. Before the rat could move, it was already in his hand, he opened his mouth and fangs appeared. He dug his fangs into the rat's body and gradually the rat look paler and paler until life left it's body. Jasper threw the rat aside while dwelling on that momentary satisfaction he felt

On a wide field...

There were targets everywhere and some people practicing shooting. Ian unloaded his bag. The bag was full of ammo and two pistols. He had requested this from . The field was also owned by his father. The people practicing around him were werewolves.

Ian felt the two pistols, trying to adapt his hands to their weight. He remembered every words he had said to him as though he was beside him as he raised a pistol and started to shooting the target. He was shooting off target at the beginning , but he was getting better overtime. Few hours later, Ian felt like he could accurately hit bullseye with his eyes closed, this wasn't strange. He practiced with two pistols on two targets

He proceeded to the moving targets. He found it difficult to adapt due to random speed and direction. The mechanics of the moving targets was based on electromagnetism. So the target could move in any direction in it's field; up, down, left, right, diagonally. "Whoever, built these moving targets is very thoughtful" he thought. It was more difficult since he was practicing with two pistols. Some of his successful shots were even lucky, But he wasn't discouraged. These moving targets were the best to train him for the tournament to come.

He kept on adapting, adapting.... adapting... When it was evening he stopped. He was satisfied with his progress today and decided to return to his dorm. When he got back to his dorm, he saw a different simon and Jasper. Jasper gave him a deadly look, Simon was giving him a serious look as well. He knew that with things being this way, he couldn't dodge whatever they were going to throw at him.

Instead of talking Simon took a small knife and gave Jasper's arm a cut. Jasper winced but that was it. They all watched the wound close as some blood flowed out of his arms. Simon wiped the blood on the arm with an handkerchief and the arm looked as though it was never cut. "Explain" Simon said as he look at Ian.
