Isabelle showed him around. "We just left the health unit" she said. Ian then "asked how did i survive the demon's attack and got here?". Isabelle answered "kai activated his speed-rune just in time and he you took a distance away from the demon, You just fell unconcious in the process". Ian then asked "what are runes?". "might as well kill time by telling you even though you won't remember any of it" isabelle smiled lightly and said. "what losing my memories?" Ian cut her but she ignored him and continued "let me start from the werewolves. As you know werewolves only turn on full moon. however witches can now make rings that can allow a werewolf access to its werewolf abilities even without a full moon. Vampires are known for their bloodsucking abilities and their ability to manipulate human minds and their fast movement and fast healing rates. Normally vampires can't walk in the day but there is the daylight ring whi h is also made by witches that enable a vampire to walk in the sun. The witches are known for their magic. We shadowhunters are identified by the runes on our bodies". Isabelle rolled up her sleeves for Ian to see. He saw some sort of writings he couldn't understand on her arm. she then continued " these on my arms you see are runes. "but why couldn't i see them back in the day? Ian asked. Isabelle smiled and said we can make ourselves invisible to you mundanes, the same goes for the runes on our bodies. We hide it with concealing rune. There are other runes such as: tracking rune, camouflage rune etc..... Isabelle went on blabbering as they went on and reached a place. This is our weaponry. Our weapons are runed so they perform more than what ordinary weapons. "My weapon is a golden staff" she said as she showed him a golden bracelet on her wrist. He was going to say something but he shut his mouth when he saw the the tiny bracelet grow into a golden staff. He touched it and the something happened. His hairs stood on end and he was electrified. is...is this the staff's power? he asked. "yes" Isabelle said feeling a little sorry for him though. "Also we have an instrument called steele. We use it to draw and activate runes. the steele is just like a pencil. the tip is used to draw runes, while the side is used is used to activate runes. She showed Ian some weapons and they left for the ground floor of the institute. supernaturals are classified as demon-blooded and angel-blooded. the witches/warlocks, vampires and werewolves are demon-blooded there are also other demon blooded creatures but they are rare. The angel-blooded are the shadowhunters and our duty is to defeat demons and keep demon-blooded creatures in place. Some other shadowhunters want to completly eradicate the demon-blooded creatures many others disapproved of it saying it would upset nature balance. Ian was silent throughout but inside his mind felt it was all a dream and he needed to wake up.
