So warm, so comfortable. A nice stretch and a yawn. Now, a nice soft booster.
Wait a minute.
Zaixing had dumped me into the body. The plain wooden ceiling of the canopy bed greeted me. A soft silk curtain swept across my face softly. The room reminded me of a large hall in an old mansion museum in Xi'an, China.
Antiquated yet exquisite pieces of furnishings with a soft camphor-like fragrance emanating from it. I sat up to look at the sides of the paneling. The entire carvings were not of dragons or phoenixes, Chinese symbols of royalty. Yet, of snakes entwining around each other forming a decorative hole. Above was the large red lacquered emblem of a three-legged crow standing in the middle of the side.
First priority, to check out my new face. If I look hideous, I will kick Zaixing to the next world the next time he meets with me. Shuffling off the gargantuan bed was bad enough.
Then the excruciating stretched out pain of the calf muscle - the type that wakes anybody up from their sleep when they stretch the wrong way.
It f***king hurts the f***king hell.
Whoa, puberty hit this one hard - judging from the legs, I was very tall for an average 13-year-old on Earth.
Time to try out these new slim legs for exploration after I massaged the calf. Not much strength in my new hands.
The legs looked rather long. Longer than mine in the previous life. Lift off from the bed!
Hurra... the room suddenly shifted sideways, and next, admiring the dust free blue painted tiles on floor. The doors swung open in response. Feet, I see a pair of boots and pink shoes making their way to me.
"Quick, get the third prince off the floor...wait...his eyes...," exclaimed a young woman in her 20s, whose color immediately drained from her face. That must be my maid.
"GET THE ROYAL PHYSICIAN!" she shrieked , to my dismay.
A man, in a lightly fitted lamellar armor on his torso, lifted me up with two strong arms. Most unpleasant experience against my soft silk garment.
Every bloody piece of the lamellar was jutting painfully into my tender flat chest. He must be my guard.
"Your highness, anything you need?" The guard said with a deep sigh.
"I just want to see my face," I blurted out. Not bad, my voice is actually deep, smooooth and not breaking at this age.
He quickly bowed and opened his palm. Immediately, a mirror materialized above his palm.
Holymolymacaronic ... magic. I want to learn how to do that!
"Are you feeling unwell, Your Highness?"
Ignoring his stupid question, I glanced curiously at the mirror. Hold up...my features were the younger version of Zaixing's form in the dream. However, the color of my irises in my eyes was different. It was a dark crimson red.
My long messy hair was a bit odd, like a purplish black. In the light, a dark purple sheen appeared. Lottery almost got me a jackpot in looks, even though the eye color was not exactly fitting the whole style. My face was whiter than the bleached sheets of hospitals.
Another lot of running footsteps approaching. A loud panting noise of an elderly man, dressed in hanfu with an awful looking cap on his head.
Face number two had color draining from the face instantaneously at the sight of me - they had not expected Ji Feng to live. The poor kid. Born into ruthless royalty. Seriously, no ruler can hold on to power for long, if they have no will to kill. That's in history and history repeats itself.
"Physician Lee, his Highness has awakened. We have sent word to his Royal Majesty about his son."
Obviously.
Now to pretend that I have no recollection of their names, when I don't even know their names. Someone poisoned Ji Feng, and it could be anyone. Wait, is Jifeng's mother even alive? No. Only his father.
"Your Highness, let me feel your pulse."
I held out my wrist. If it doesn't get any more periodic than the Chinese dramas, a silk handkerchief over my wrist, and a firm touch of two fingers with the hum haw of the physician. His face turned from one of seriousness to elation and then a big smile plastered on. I don't like this type of big smiles.
Reminds me of a wolf waiting to eat its prey.
"Your poison is purged from the system. The antidote worked. And...it is weird, but it seems like his meridian points are starting to re-establish. 40 out of 80 had cleared. If any luck and this continues, you can start cultivation from the beginning."
No, it didn't. I just took over this body.
The soul all of you knew is Ji Feng has gone over to the beyond. Well, most of it. There is still a po left.
In Jinshi, maybe the meridian conduits were referring to those on Earth. To my knowledge, everyone had 12 principal meridians and in total, 72. Was that why Jinshi people had the extra capability to use ling qi with the additional 8?
"Broooooother FENGGGGGGGG." Here comes the deafening shrill screech of a young girl and then a small body flinging itself onto me. Holy crap. Next falling back onto the soft mattress, with the little leech on my body.
Can't breathe in this weak body and definitely getting crushed.
"Princess, his highness can't breathe," the guard pointed out.
JUST GET HER OFF ME, YOU IDIOT!!! I could not even muster a breath to yell those words.
"Oh," the brat crawled off with tears welling up in her eyes. Let's play a game to see how loud she can bawl.
"Who are you?"
That's it. Button pressed. The sniffing accompanied by nasal drips, the tears spilling. The crumpling of that round plump face and narrowing of those big eyes. Then the crinkled face and the slow bawl into loud wailing like it was my funeral.
"I ...WAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....AM ....YOUR WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH....SISTER, HEYING! Waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh.....he....*sniff* waaaaahhhh, don't .....*sniff*"
"Better tell his majesty that he has memory loss," Physician Lee whispered to the maid who quickly nodded.
She threw her tiny arms around me while her body heaved from the sobs, then whispered softly to my ear, "Zaixing here, it isn't safe. Three tigers under the roof. Request to go and rehabilitate in Clear Dragon Pond which under the control of Xuanlong sect. Don't bring any of your servants. Don't bring this one too - she is only your half sister and her mother doesn't think much of you."
Two tigers under the roof- that was my warning in Hong Kong.
Of course, with Zaixing's doing, he had to choose three tigers under the roof - Ji Feng's two other elder brothers… and I. A repository of memories still exists within the po, which fed me the information.
I buried my face deliberately near her ear. "Can they hear us?"
"No. But I have to go. Bye."
Zaixing once again left me to the mercy of others. Dumping someone in the middle of a situation was definitely his style.
