Once Chess was finally released, he stood up and started walking towards the street. The police officers offered him a ride home but he just declined like a scared poor lady who just wants to get away from the scary place as soon as possible.
The officers took it as a mental shock so they decided to just let her go on her own. Still, they insisted to call her a ride.
As one of the officers watched out for a taxi, Chess' eyes landed on one shade just across them.
He noticed it earlier, but he couldn't be sure of it. Now, he could finally say that his eyes weren't fooling him.
'It's Aoi and Reis.' He called their names inside his head.
Aoi also happily waved towards him, not even worried that the officer might notice his action. Good thing, the taxi came and Chess quietly rode. He gave the officer a thankful smile before closing the door.
The driver then slowly maneuvered the car back into the road.
