I will post 2-3 chapters per day until it's all caught again with Vol 2!
Here's a fresh new starting point!

Present Year: 2024.
Calendar Day: March 4th. Monday.
Alola Region.
Melemele Island.
7:00 AM.
Hau'oli Outskirts. Near Route 1.
It was a bright and sunny Monday morning. The echoes of the nearby waves crashed along its shores. The salty breeze kept the air cool as the sun rose up over the low horizon.
Alola consisted of four islands, and were at a much lower elevation point compared to the larger regions. As such, most mornings had early sunrises. It was only 7AM, but the sun was already rising high up over the crystal-blue sky. The skies were presently clear. Only a single scattered cumulus cloud could be seen drifting about.
Several flying-type Pokemon were happily flapping their wings, streaking across the open skies. A sole Pelipper amongst a flock of Wingull. A few Wailmer came out to say hello, popping their round heads out of the water. A couple of Carvanha currently had their fins lurking around in the open. Deeper inside the nearby waters, common schools of Luvdisc and Remoraid rapidly swam about while a hidden Pyukumuku was spotted nearby some coral.
A harmonious sight that allows Pokemon to frolic without a care in the world. It welcomed bright and upbeat scenery. Spring had just dawned, making winter pass. It was the first month of Spring. Despite that, not a single ounce of snow could be seen on the ground. This was the Alola Region, making snowfall a rarer sight than most other regions. It was a Mediterranean paradise where it stayed mostly cool or warm all year round.
With the morning on the rise, the natives of Melemele Island started their day. It seemed especially busy in one particular area, which was the outskirts of one, if not the largest city of Melemele Island, Hau'oli City. The Hau'oli Outskirts were situated just off to the side of the main city, which connected to the very first route of the Alola Islands. If one continued northwest from there, they would eventually arrive at Iki Town. A town of beginnings where a Trainer could begin the island challenge, an opportunity given to trainers to clear Alola's trials.
On this auspicious day, on the other hand, it was sad to say this will not be taking place. A rather complete and opposite scene could be seen taking place in the middle of Hau'oli Outskirts.
In particular, a large and spacious building currently stood, protruding outward onto the main street. The building itself had a very welcoming and inviting atmosphere on the days it was open. It was a family restaurant of sorts. And it was one of the only buildings larger than the Pokemon Center that could be seen further near the end of the main street. This restaurant had long since made a name for itself, and it was where most people went to enjoy a scrumptious meal for breakfast or lunch. The prices were very affordable too.
The restaurant currently had its front door and windows tightly shut. Together with the sign on the door flipped the other way around, it signaled that the restaurant was presently closed. It normally opened early at 6AM, but the townsfolk knew not to come at this time. They had received a notice beforehand, saying that this restaurant wouldn't open until later in the day. A couple hours later. And for a good reason.
An ongoing scene could be seen taking place inside. Despite the outside appearance, the restaurant was still lit up. Four figures could be seen standing around. Three of them were huddled closer toward the front door, while the fourth remained behind the first three figures. The first three figures were girls of similar ages. One had platinum-blonde hair, one had forest-green hair, and the third girl, who was a couple years younger than the first two, had ocean-blue hair. The fourth person behind these three girls was a man, and was presently wearing a kitchen apron. He was actually the owner of this restaurant, as well as the father of the forest-green haired girl in this group.
The platinum-blonde haired girl was the closest one standing to the closed door. A hint of sadness draped across her eyes as she observed the two girls standing before her. She was presently wearing a one-piece white skirt that had cute blue wave patterns going across its hem. The other two girls standing in front of her also had downcast eyes.
"Aww Lillie, do you really need to leave?", The green-haired girl said, frowning. She went by the name Mallow.
"Oh come on you two, we can't be sad about this forever, you know? It's not like I won't be gone-gone.", The girl replied, despite showing a saddened frown herself. She was even trying to hold back a tear in her eyes.
"I know you won't...but I didn't think this day would ever come, Lillie. Among us at the Pokemon School, you're the first one to finally leave the nest!", Mallow responded back at her.
"Hahaha....That's a weird way of putting it...", Lillie said, scratching her cheek out of embarrassment.
"It's not like we can delay the inevitable, Mallow. You know we'll miss you, right, Lillie? It'll be sad not seeing you here helping at the restaurant with us two.", The ocean-blue haired girl said. She was called Lana, and she was the girl who was a couple years younger than Lillie and Mallow. Lillie and Mallow were the same age and had just turned fifteen sometime last year, but Lana was still three years younger than them. She was still a kid.
Nonetheless, it wouldn't be farfetch'd to say the three girls were best friends. That's why the sadness was present in Lillie's eyes.
"I know it's a sad feeling when someone leaves. Didn't Professor Kukui get the latest model of the Pokemon Indexes? We'll still be able to video call each other, and even hold online lectures!", Lillie said, trying to cheer the two up.
"This, right?", Mallow said, reaching into her pockets, only to pull out a smartphone-like device. It really was a touchscreen.
"Uh-huh. That's the one. Before I forget, why don't we register ourselves in the registry?", Lillie suggested.
Before she truly left, Lillie wanted to make sure she wanted to get Mallow's and Lana's contacts registered in her own Pokemon Index. Or Pokedex for short. It had gone through several upgrades over the years and it was very sleek and modern now. Many apps could also be stored on it. Doing video calls was an easy task!
Unlike Mallow though, Lillie kept her Pokedex inside one of her two bags she had placed beside her. One of them was her iconic duffle bag with a pokeball pattern on each end. She rummaged around in it for a moment, before she pulled her own Pokedex out. Lana did the same, and the three exchanged numbers.
"Hehehe, I'll be expecting lots of pics, alright? It'll only be nine months that you will be gone.", Mallow said, revealing a smile across her lips.
"Nine months is still a long time...", Lana uttered.
"That's the plan for now. Ricky and I will start our journey in the Kanto Region, and hopefully we can get all eight badges for the Indigo League that is set to happen in December.", Lillie responded with a nod.
"Oh yeah...That Ricky guy. DIdn't think he'd wind up staying at the Professor's place with you. He's related to Professor Kukui too, ain't he? Something about being cousins?", Mallow wondered.
"Something like that. I'm not really sure how his family ties in. They got super buddy-buddy real quick once Ricky first flew in here from Kanto.", Lillie wondered herself.
"Maybe that's why you ended up dating him?", Mallow asked, revealing a teasing grin. Lillie's cheeks turned a bright red hearing that.
"Oh come on, Mallow. You don't need to tease me like that. Ricky and I haven't been together for long either...", Lillie trailed off, trying to hide away her embarrassment.
"But it still happened, right? Normally I'd worry for you, considering you're heading off to an entire different region. But since that Ricky guy will be with you, I don't have to be worried.", Mallow responded with a curt laugh.
"Isn't it rude to address Professor Ricky like that, Mallow? He's the same as Professor Kukui you know.", Lana reprimanded Mallow.
"Oh yeah. There was that, wasn't there?", Mallow said, almost forgetting that the person in question did indeed become a Pokemon Professor. And quite recently too. Just this last here, the person submitted their thesis, and it was accepted by the other Pokemon Professors.
Buzz-buzz-buzz.
All of a sudden, a buzzing sound struck against Lillie's ears, which came from her own Pokedex. She turned the screen on. The time now read, 730AM. Before she realized it, a half hour had already passed as she was trying to say her farewells to her two friends.
"It looks like I need to get going. I'm going to miss you two.", Lillie said, and went in for a sudden hug.
A moment of silence was shared in both bliss and sadness as the three girls enjoyed a hug. The man behind them watched on with a smile. He took this moment to speak to Lillie.
"You were a great help out here, Lilllie. If you have some free time in the coming days, I'll be sure to welcome you back. Take this for your troubles, alright?", The man said. He went by the name Abe. And he was Mallow's father.
"You don't need to, Mister Abe...", Lillie responded, trying to reject the man, but the man pushed a sealed, white envelope into her hand. It likely contained a hefty amount of Pokedollars from her time spent working here.
"Haha! You can use this money to buy some souvenirs for the two girls here. Or you can have a fancy night out with that new boyfriend of yours.", Abe said, revealing a smug grin.
"A-A fancy night...", Lillie uttered, her cheeks blushed again.
"Oh come on dad. You can't tease Lillie. She can take things seriously. Don't make her misunderstand this.", Mallow immediately reprimanded her dad.
"Fair point. Use this money however you wish to then, Lillie. Take care, alright?", Abe said, and gave her a pat on the shoulder.
"I will. I hope to see you all again soon!", Lillie said, trying to cheer herself up. She knew it was time to go.
"We'll miss you.", Mallow said in earnest. Lana also nodded to second that.
"Give our regards to Professor Kukui, will you, Lillie? It is a joyous occasion today so if he has some spare time, he can drop by for a free lunch!", Abe also said.
"Can do. I'll be sure to give you two a call once we're in Kanto!", Lillie happily responded.
The two girls nodded their heads. Lillie took this time to pick up her two bags. The person in question from earlier, Ricky, was Lillie's newfound companion. She will be flying to the Kanto Region with him, and this will be her second time visiting the region!
Only this time, Lillie will begin a new Pokemon Journey! She had long since awaited this day. Ever since she was able to cure her phobia of touching Pokemon. And now, the sadness was swept away from her gaze. It was soon replaced by a look of anticipation the moment she stepped out of the front door, closing it behind her.
Her companion, who went by the name Ricky, warned her to pack light. She only had a small suitcase and her duffle bag, making it relatively easy to carry.
Lillie now found herself, alone on the main street of Hau'oli Outskirts. Another moment of silence passed as she felt a brief moment of hesitation.
Raising her hands, she suddenly slapped her cheeks, which turned them rosy.
"Come on Lillie, you can do this. Ricky's waiting for you. You still need to pick him up so we can head to Hau'oli Airport!", Lilly said to herself, trying to cheer herself up.
With a newfound sense of determination, Lillie grabbed her two bags, and looked toward the northeast, where a big stretch of a sandy beach lay waiting for her to cross...
In the next moment, Lillie entered a dash. With her belongings in hand, she rushed out, and entered the main street of Hau'oli Outskirts!
Seeing Lillie's departing figure leave, Mallow glanced at her fleeting direction, only to let out a sigh.
"And off she goes...To a new adventure, I suppose.", Mallow uttered.
"I'm sure lots of fun and exciting things will happen in Kanto for her. And she'll have to tell us all about it when she returns.", Lana said, cracking a smile.
"Haha, you sure said it. But with Lillie gone now, you two can help stay so I can open up for lunch, right?", Abe questioned the two.
"Uh-huh. Sure thing, dad!", Mallow happily responded.
Just like that, Lillie left the restaurant, and headed to the place where Ricky was currently staying...
