After that scuffle, Xavier went out of the classroom and followed the map of the academy on his omnibands to reach the Missions Hall.
The Missions Hall was a huge 10 storied building which was in the north compound of the academy. It was probably one of the most important places in the academy as it was basically the lifeblood of both the academy and the students.
Xavier went inside the Missions Hall and looked around and found many ladies dresses in special uniforms waiting behind the counters.
While there are AI bits which can handle all the work by themselves, most of the adventurers and soldiers who had a high death rate preferred to have humans interact with them than an emotionless AI. So the Federation instructed every kingdom to employ workers to provide services.
And because of cultivation, the ability of there people were no less than the ability if those AI bits in maintaining the work.
The Hall had 10 floors and they were divided according to the cultivation levels. The 1st floor for the foundation stage and the next 3 floors for the master stage and the next 3 for the grandmaster stage and so on.
The foundation stage had only one floor because they had the least amount of missions and most of them were minor tasks like the looking after some herbs or pets.
Xavier went to a counter and asked the attendant," Can you show me all the missions for foundation stage cultivators?"
The attendant smiled and clicked her omniband which showed a list if several thousand missions which were given along with the rewards for those missions as well.
Most if these missions were herb watching and some were for herb collection. They just gave a meagre 1 credit point for a day's worth of work and the criteria was strict as well. Xavier scrolled through the missions and soon found a bunch of high yielding missions. These were the concocting missions. The main objective was to concoct various potions for cultivators to use.
These tasks also can't be done by machines as they lack spirituality and have no ability to control qi which will make them unable to extract the medicinal essence from the herbs.
The main portions being used were the healing potion and the qi potion. These potions helped the most in battle and we're always in high demand.
' Concocting these potions will take about a minute considering my alchemical expertise and if I can turn in about 5 potions a day, I'll be able to earn 50 credits each day which will make my life way easier given that the constrains of resources will be gone.' Xavier thought.
"I'd like to take the Potion concocting mission." said Xavier to the attendant in front of him, who was named Clara as mentioned on her uniform.
"Can you show me the Medicine Hall badge you have? You must at least be a 1 star potion concocter to recieve these missions." said Clara in a calm tone.
"Medicine hall badge?" Xavier was surprised. He didn't know that there was a condition to this mission as well.
Seeing Xavier's surpirsed expression, Clara explained," Sir this is done to prevent people from taking advantage of the resources by the Academy and using it for their own benefits. It was recently found out that many students who were not from the medicine hall were using the herbs from here to practice it and wasting them. So there is a restriction for these herbs. Either you should be a student of the Medicine Hall or yous should be a Potion Concocter verified by the same."
Xavier understood the reason for this condition. Of all the departments of the Academy, the Medicine Hall was the most difficult to get into. One reason is because of aptitude and the other was resources.
The Medicine hall students need a lot of resources to practice medicine concoction and almost all of these people come from rich families. So thise who cannot afford to join the Medicine hall or don't have th eapturyde but have a few credits which they have saved up, they'll try to concot potions by themselves and finally sell it under the Academy's name to make money. This lead to some problems and finally the Academy made up some restrictions to regulate such practices.
'If I need the potion badge, I just need to make it. The recipie is free on the cyberspace anyway.'
"Ok then. I'll take the mission after I've reached obtained the Concocter badge." said Xavier in a nonchalant tone.
Hearing this attitude from Xavier, Clara got a little intrigued by him. She smiled and said," If you have confidence then, go and take the test. If you get the badge, I'll issue the mission for you. And I'll even keep the other concotion missions reserved for you."
Xavier's eyes instantly lit up when he heard this. One of the main issues with concotion mission was their rarity. It was his luck that he got to see 10 such missions issued by the Medicine hall.
"Thank you. I'll keep the favour in my mind."
"Good luck on your test then."
"Ok, I'll see you later." Xavier smiled happily.
He felt a warm feeling wash over his chest. In his last life, he was always shunned upon because if his status and his feminine figure. This was the first time someone talked with him with a gentle smile on their face and he felt happy with it.
'System, it feels like I have fallen in love. It's the so called love at first sight which the young masters in my previous life used to say to impress the young maidens in my previous life.'
