"That's him! Go get him!" as they chase him.
"Why is he running?!" Levin shouts.
"We'll find out after we catch him." I said as we wait for the knights to come back.
Ephraim is no longer alive. I witnessed his death firsthand. That day, his clothes were still stained with blood. He couldn't possibly be alive after all of that. I don't want him to die, but he can't possibly be alive after what happened.
And, if he is still alive, who have we cremated?
But, until we know who that guy is, I won't be able to fully trust my intuition. If it's him, I'll be happy but suspicious. 'Because, first and foremost, why would he hide and fake his death... right?
"Why is this happening?!" Levin exclaimed.
"Levin, calm down. We will figure it out after this." I said in comfort as I caress his back.
His forehead is knotted and then he massages it.
"Calm down, be patient, and we will have our answer later." I added.
"Where is General?" he asked.
"Your Majesty? You called?" a man's voice spoke from behind.
"General McGunning, please search the entire city and don't stop until you catch him," he said calmly, his head down.
"Your Majesty? Are you all right?" General McGunning inquired, his face concerned.
"Levin? What happened? Are you hurt?" I worriedly inquired.
He became pale and blinked his eyes a few times while shaking his head.
"N-no, I'm fine."
"Your Majesty, get some rest. I'll get you an antidote. Your stress triggers again, and we need to let you rest right now," Mr. Havoc advised.
Wait...
"Antedote?" I asked, befuddled.
"Yes, Your Majesty, His Majesty Levin is always stressed, and if it is not treated immediately, he may pass out in a few minutes," he said as my mouth opened in surprise.
I want to ask Levin or Mr. Havoc about it because no one told me he has a minor illness, but I can't just press them because I'm curious.
"Then, please take us home and call his doctor before he faints."
"To be obeyed, dear Queen." Mr. Havoc said as he command the carriage to prepare to go home.
"Be careful on your way home, Your Majesties. I will send my troops to escort you there and then they will come back here once you arrived safely." General McGunning said.
"Thank you. Please do what he says. We also want good news after your search."
"We will try our best, Your Majesty" as I nod.
"Cadres D, escort Her and His Majesty on their way home." General McGunning started to command the knights.
"Yes, sir!" they all said.
Mr. Havoc supported Levin to ride in the carriage as I followed to go in.
His eyes were tightly closed in the middle of the ride, and he was still massaging his forehead. I take his hand in mine and caress it with my thumb.
"We'll go home now, Levin," I said softly as he only nodded. He then squished my hand. It hurts because the ring is on my finger, and I use my left hand to hold his, but it will injure it for a while. He's in the most pain right now.
"Mr. Havoc, please have the antidote ready when we arrive, and I'll call the doctor."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
We arrived home in a few minutes as Mr. Havoc supported him again until we reach his chamber.
"I'll be back, Your Majesty; I'll get the antidote first," I say as he walks away, leaving me alone with Levin.
"Lay down, rest, and sleep after you drink your medicine," I said as I assisted him in lying down.
I was about to get up and reach for the phone to call the doctor when an arm pulled me back into bed.
I was unexpectedly embraced and felt the warmth of his body.
"Did you make that scene up?"
"No, I am not that lowly a man; I just want you to be here while I rest."
"You must sleep, not just rest."
"But you are my rest. Whenever you are near, my stress fades."
"Is that so?"
"Mhm." he mumbles.
When his woman is present, a terror guy can be a sweet guy. I can't believe he's the kind of man who can be gentle with a woman.
My thoughts make me laugh.
"So, what's the deal with this sudden cuddle?"
"Well, I may be a little weak right now, but please accept my embrace as a heartfelt apology for the same incident."
"Again?"
"What do you mean 'again'?" as I sigh.
"I already said to you that forget about it." I whine.
"I also said to you that I disagree with that." he then raises his eyebrow.
"I told you it's fine; I'm just being considerate due to the incident. I understand, and I don't want to bother you," he sighs as he stands up and cups my cheek.
"Love, you've never been a bother to me, and I've already told you that I'm considerate as well. I consider your feelings, and I have to accept responsibility for it because I caused it," he says, smiling slightly.
"I am the one who initiates our relationship. I even risked my people's approval to marry a Mondreich's enemy, your nation, just to be with you," he pats my head.
"The girl I admire the most in the world," he says, gently rubbing my chin.
I don't want to get my hopes up, but I think I know where this is going.
We are, after all, the only ones in the chamber...
I blushed at my own thoughts but remained calm.
"So, please, let me be," he says, his gaze fixed on my lips.
As I began to close my eyes, he moved his face closer to mine.
"Your Majesty!"
