Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: From The Demolished Village (1)

The world is in chaos. The number of monsters suddenly began increasing at a tremendous amount. Rumors say that this was the cause of a demon king being born.

The monsters started attacking places, destroying and killing everything they see and encounter. The monsters did a full wave attack. Many kingdoms were wiped out from the map. Only those with strong defences were left standing. But, they suffered big damage and losses.

The three biggest kingdom left standing were the Kingdom of Azkel, one of the kingdoms of human, Aglarond, a kingdom that belongs to elves, and the third is Habius Kingdom, a place where dwarves lived.

These three kingdoms were strong enough to withstand the attack of the monsters. There were other smaller kingdoms who also survived like the Kingdom of Belkiria, who specialized in defense.

Many people died. Monsters still continue to invade other places. What's going to happen to the world now?

Somewhere far from the capital, there was a boy, laying on the ground, waiting to be killed by the monsters running around. His name is Leo. An hour ago, a group of monsters attacked his village. His mom and dad told him to run away.

Unfortunately, they were late in action. As they were about to escape, half of the village was already in pieces. His parents died trying to help him get away. Then, he got scratched by a monster in the back.

He then fell to the ground, bleeding and crying, waiting for the monsters to find him and eat him.

"M-mom... D-dad...", I whimpered. As I spoke, I can feel the pain from the wound inflicted on me. My whole body was in pain and my life force was slowly draining.

Am I going to die here? I thought. I tilted my head to the right and saw my mom and dad's corpse. They were both holding hands.

Maybe, it would be better if I die now. If I do, I would be able to join my parents. And... It's not like I would be able to survive here anyways.

I looked at the sky. There were dark clouds gathering. After a bit, drops of rain came down one by one. As my hope that I will be saved completely faded away, I closed my eyes and waited for my death to come.

The rain started pouring heavily. I couldn't here anything else but its sound dropping on the ground.

"Monsters are spotted! All men, formation! Attack!" Huh? Who was that? Are they here to save us?

I opened my eyes again and saw that there were people dressed in armour fighting the monsters that attacked our village. They killed every last one of them. Then, a man with a slightly different armour shouted, "Search for survivors!"

"Yes sir!", answered the other people with him. Was he their leader? They started to search every single place that might be able to contain a human. They were here to help us.

"Sir—" I wasn't able to continue what I was going to say. I already reached my limit. I lost every single ounce of energy that I have.

Then, one man reported to their leader, "Sir, it seems like everyone in this village had been either eaten or killed."

"Is that so? Then, prepare to go back home."

"Yes sir!"

Wait! Please don't leave me here! What should I do to make them notice me? I forced everything I had and was finally able to say some few words.

"H-Help... P-Please help... me." My voice was not that loud but it was enough for the leader to notice me. He ran to me as soon as he heard my cry for help.

Oh no. I'm loosing consciousness. Everything around me started to turn black. Then, my sense of hearing and sense of touch stopped functioning. I... will need... to sleep... for... a while...

"Hey kid!" shouted the leader as he called for Leo. Leo fell unconscious because of tiredness and pain. The leader of the men that helped defeat the monsters that attacked the village took Leo to one of the houses that wasn't destroyed.

"Renald!", shouted the leader as he placed Leo down on a bed. He then examined Leo's body for damages. A guy holding a staff entered the room.

"Yes captain."

"Heal him. It seems like he was scratched in the back by the monsters."

"Alright."

Renald then went closer to Leo and pointed his staff on the boy. "Oh great god of healing, Hermenes. I ask you for your blessing and assistance. 'Healing'."

After he said that, pecks of green light rained down from his staff going ti Leo's wound. The cuts slowly closed up until it was fully healed. There was not even a single sign left that shows there was a wound there.

Renald lowered his staff and seemed quite satisfied. Renald was quite talented. He was a wizard in the group but he specializes in using a bow.

"Seriously Renald. You are still using chants to cast a healing spell?", mocked the captain.

"You know that healing magic is not my thing. I am more on attack. At least I can still use it right? How about you? You can't even use a single magic spell.", answered Renald back.

The captain couldn't find any words to counter it so he changed the topic.

"A-Anyways, are we going to wait for this kid to wake up?", he asked.

"Of course we are. I mean, we can't just take him back with us to the capital right?", answered Renald.

"You have a point. I'll go tell the others to rest up to gain some energy.", said the captain then he walked out of the room.

Everyone then went to find a place to sleep. They made a schedule on who will stay on guard. The rest tried to get as much sleep as possible.

The night went on with no problems from monsters. The next day was surely going to be tiring. The captain went back to the room and told Renald to also go to sleep.

"Don't worry. I'm going to look after the kid. You cab go to sleep." Renald then went to find a place to sleep.
