Even though they had an urgent matter on their hands and needed to have an immediate meeting about it, upon seeing how the Queen ran into Charles's arms, no one dared to disturb them. It was rare for Katherine to show emotion, and no one in the room, apart from Charles, could recall a time when they had seen her cry. The guards knew she didn't even cry at her father's funeral, at least not that they saw.
It took Katherine a good ten minutes to stop sobbing and get to a point where she wasn't gasping for air. Not even the last rebel attack that had left her father dead, her mother kidnapped, and many of her servants and guards heavily injured and dead had affected her this badly this quickly.
