By the time Katherine and Charles arrived, it was already night time because of the time difference between Eos and Helios. Thankfully, it was still early enough to go give Marcus his files and for Katherine to go check on her mom.
They put Blue on a leash so that she wouldn't go running about the large castle, and they made their way over to Marcus's room first. When they found that he wasn't in his room, they assumed he was eating dinner, and decided to go visit Lia and then come back to him.
As they walked down the hall to Katherine's mother's room, the pair saw Jasper guarding her room, so they knew she must have been in there. When she saw Jasper, Katherine immediately tensed, and Charles gave her hand a reassuring squeeze, which only made her feel guilty in return.
"Sorry," she whispered to Charles.
"You have nothing to apologize for," he reassured her before he brought her hand up to his lips to place a kiss on the back of it.
