Apparently Blue had decided that she was hungry enough to interrupt one of the most important conversations Katherine and Charles had ever had. After Blue ate, she had zoomies and ran around for a bit before she fell right back asleep.
Once Blue had settled down, Katherine suggested to Charles that they go on a walk down the beach. They held hands as they walked, but neither brought up the conversation that they had been having earlier before the puppy interrupted them. They simply enjoyed each other's company and the peace that filled the beach.
The rest of the day followed the same pattern: Blue would want to play, eat, or go to the bathroom, and once she was asleep, Katherine and Charles would do something for themselves like have a drink or go enjoy the sunny weather. Katherine found herself feeling like a parent trying to sneak away and have time for herself away from her child.
