Joshua's POV.
The day is finally here. Everything is set. Some of the paintings are already on display, I went through everything with Xander again, to make sure we have it all together.
This is our 5th exhibition in two years and its always been a resounding success. IAM unveiling some new paintings today, mostly drawings from my subconsciousness that speaks to everyone. Their originality is appealing and refreshing.
The event will start officially by 7pm..we still have an hour to go as I checked my wristwatch.
I walked nervously to the painting section, I have the canvass and my painting brushes all arranged neatly on the small table beside the canvas stand, some bottle of paints also by the side. I have always been a nervous wreck anytime I have to do something big like this.
I looked around and saw Xander talking with some of the set designers arranging the lightings, just then,he looked at and after a small part he gave the guy in his shoulder, he walked up to me.
"What's up man...you look like shit" he said with a smile.
"I always look like shit Xander, in less than an hour, this place will be swarming with people" I replied in a low tone.
" Don't worry man,you will be fine, you always get through, don't you?" He replied, playfully hitting my arm.
"I just can't wait for this to be over'
" So what will you be painting for the audience today?
"I don't know yet..my head is everywhere...Iam trying to get my shit together"
"Make it worth it man..."
"It's always worth it Xan...now let me have some moments alone before the craziness begins please"
" Sure buddy...keep it together...I will just check around for any adjustments" Xander said finally,..walking away from me to the guys setting up in the hall.
I heaved a deep sigh of exhaustion and flexed my fingers out of habit. I started pouring the paints into some neatly arranged cups lined up on the table before me.
Since I woke up this morning, I have only thing in my head, the girl in my dream. The unidentified girl who obviously is an important part of my past that I unfortunately could not remember. I can't seem to get the dream out of my head.
After setting the paints and brushes, I stood up from the table and walked around a bit, looking at the paintings set up in the hall, I still have some time to clear my mind and relax my nerves for the task ahead. Every time we hold an exhibition, I do live paintings for the audience, they love watching me paint and it's one of the things that makes me happy and fulfilled, it's going to be a beautiful day, I can feel it already.
A short one here...
What do you think would happen at the exhibition? And whAt would Joshua be painting for his live painting??.
Don't forget to vote and comment, let me know what you think please.
