Chapter 3:

Qin Yushen was surprised to have been greeted by such a immortal like being. His bearing was not one you'd seen in any commoner or even cultivator in fact. He was intrigued at why such a being was living like a hermit in the hills of a place that was tens of kilometers away from civilization

One thing that he did know however was the fact that such a man was in no way ordinary. He had to tread carefully for he could be talking to an old monster who'd lived for countless millennia.

"Hello sir, I am Qin Yushen of the Flame Sea Sect of the Yufei Dynasty. I was out on a journey when I heard some music so I followed it here. I'd never expected that someone as living her though."

Liu Qi was surprised. Mostly all his knowledge about world that featured cultivators were that second-generation rich kids and young masters were very arrogant. As such, when he witnessed such a humble prince he was startled.

Pleasantly startled actually. If it was an arrogant young master who took a liking to his abode and wanted to keep it for himself then wouldn't it be very bad for him? After all, although he had spiritual treasures, he had zero combat power. If he picked a fight then he'd probably be the one to get face-slapped on the occasion.

"I see. Well, my abode is pretty far away from civilization so you'd must have expended a lot of effort coming here. How about you come in and rest for a while before continuing your journey?"

Liu Qi was a man from Earth after all, if someone arrived to his home then he'd naturally greet them with politeness. While this was one reasons why he invited him, the main reason was that he had no one to talk for years. This loneliness seemed to stem from not only his years here but from another place much far away too it seemed. He had fragments of fragments of fragments of some memories but they were so small he couldn't make anything out of them at all.

Qin Yushen on the other hand was surprised by the mysterious person inviting him in. While he was surprised about being invited in he wasn't all that scared. After all he was the successor of the Flame Sea Sect, he was wearing many defensive, offensive as well as escape treasures. On top of all that he had a contact token to contact his father, a Essence Integration stage cultivator.

"I shall be rude and enter then."

Liu Qi smiled mysteriously as he walked away, the metal door opening on its own for Qin Yushen.

Qin Yushen jolted as he got startled by the door opening on its own. He looked around, then took a deep breath, gathering enough courage to step inside.

The moment his whole body stepped in he was greeted with a wave of highly dense arcane qi. All hairs on his body stood up as he was baptized by the arcane qi. The pores in his body opened up as his dantian was flooded both on the inside and outside with arcane qi.

Qin Yushen felt his body lightening as his cultivation soared, reaching the peak of Golden Core stage.

After basking in this feeling what ran over Qin Yushen was not happiness but despair. He was despairing at how he talked to the man earlier, acting all casual.

As he was thinking over what would happen to him and was imagining all sorts of punishments, he heard the man calling him.

"Why are you stuck at the door?"

He jolted upwards and got out of his reverie.

He quickly walked towards Liu Qi. The mist around Qin Yushen parted as he was greeted with a very beautiful sight. While Liu Qi walked towards the house with not an ounce of surprise or pride, Qin Yushen was shocked to his soul once more.

What greeted him was not only a beautiful scenery but dragons and phoenixes made of arcane qi swirling and flying around Liu Qi. The water flowing around the hill was not normal water but Essence Water, which would only be made when an area had so much Spiritual and Arcane Qi that it coalesced into liquid form.

While the waterfall was not truly liquid qi, it was made up by the sheer quantity of the thing.

He walked behind Liu Qi, reveling at all the treasures he could see. His face could not hide the shock he was feeling.

"Th,this place is amazing…"

In front of Qin Yushen, Liu Qi had a grin stretching to his ears as he observed Qin Yushen's reactions.

Hah! This is truly a good reaction. My efforts have not gone to waste! Be more amazed! More surprised!

Liu Qi felt satisfied to the core. He felt as though his mouth was filled with sweet honey.

"How is my abode?"

"It is truly amazing. If I'm being honest here, this place is probably leagues better than my whole sect combined!"

This time it was Liu Qi's turn to be surprised. While he did think highly of himself and his home, he did not dare think of himself as great as the immortal cultivators who could ride clouds, split oceans and cut mountains.

But he didn't hate it. In fact, he liked it even more.

Hehehe, this is truly great! I haven't been this happy in years. If my home is such a great place then he himself thinks of me as a great man as well. If so I shall be a great man then!

"I see. Well, thank you for the compliment!"

Liu Qi spoke in satisfaction.

"Well, welcome to my home!"

Qin Yushen sighed in relief to himself as all the horrendous punishments he imagined didn't come to fruition. He was brought to the inner garden of the house where there was a black cat sunbathing in peace.

It had two pieces of cucumbers on its eyes as the rest of its face was covered with a white face mask.

Qin Yushen was stunned by the sight he saw as he tried his best to stifle his laughter.

"What are you doing you dumb cat?" echoed Liu Qi as he laughed so much that tears started falling from his eyes.

The black cat was startled as its cucumbers fell to the ground. Its eyes were filled with grievance as it jumped towards Liu Qi with an angry meow, it's jade white claws extending towards Liu Qi's face.

"You- Ouch!"

"You ruined my face mask, you monster!" bellowed the cat with an aggrieved expression.

To the cat, ruining it's spa sessions was the worst things one could do. Liu Qi was a monster for doing the so.

Qin Yushen had been continually getting dumbfounded by the things he saw after he entered and it happened once more.

At least a talking cat was normal. Beasts would gain intelligence after coming in contact with sufficient spiritual qi and after living for a sufficient amount of time.

But what was shocking that it was taking a spa!

A cat taking a spa! A freaking cat!

What he saw made his jaw drop even lower!

The cat turned human after it realized that it couldn't beat Liu Qi in cat mode.

This was no normal occurrence! A beast could only gain human form after passing a 9th stage tribulation where it's powers would be condensed into a beast core and gain a human form. After gaining human form and a beast core, it could freely change between both forms.

The problems with gaining a human form and forming a beast core was that all your powers from after Golden Core stage would get sealed within the beast core. You would be in a fresh golden core stage where your illusory core would have already been formed and would be transformed into a golden core.

Another reason why most beasts didn't like gaining a human form was due the fact that they could be killed by their enemies in their time of weakness. After all, a 9th stage beast would have similar 9th stage enemies. And getting back to 9th stage could take hundreds if not thousands of years.

But when one door closes another window opens. A beast that gained human would be twice as strong as beasts and humans of the same realms. And after each promotion in stage, their power of the stage would be unlocked from the beast core.

And once they successfully reached 9th stage, they would be twice as strong as other 9th stage cultivators.

Going back to the original topic, the cat turning into human was a very big thing for Qin Yushen. This cat could be hundreds if not thousands of years old.

The real suprising fact was that the man was handling her with ease, the cat's attacks that were infused with laws looking like toys in front of the man.

Qin Yushen watched the scuffle with awe, his adam's apple bobbing up and down ever so often.

10 minutes passed and the cat was panting as her hair looked messy and disheveled.

At that moment, her hands were caught by Liu Qi as he went behind her making her perform a bow with her short hands.

The end result was a messy looking human who's hands were forced to be in a bowing position with very handsome man doing the hand-bowing.

"Welcome to our home!"

[AN: Pretty sure not a lot of people are paying attention to my novel. Hell, I've written it for fun too so that my time isn't wasted. My tests were going on for a while so I couldn't continue. Now that they're over I'll try my best to continue writing.

Power stone votings will be very appreciated.]
