Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

Chapter 2

"Looks like the test subject isn't responding to the synchronization of the crystal, should we increase the dosage?"

"Maybe, increase it to 60%"

"Dosage increased to 60%...still no change, her body seems to be getting weaker by the dosage"

"What of the other test subject?"

"Based on my data, the other test subjects are responding well to the crystal and we have complete control over their vitals"

"I guess, we have no choice but to dispose of her, turn off the synchronization"

"Okay…wait…her cells…they are still multiplying"

"So?"

"This might be good, let's keep her for proper diagnosis"

"But we can't control her"

"Yes, but we can control the others, if she poses as a threat we will order them to annihilate her"

"Okay, then give her the remaining part of the transplant"

"Okay…Transplant Successful"

"Erase her memory of everything that she has heard, at least we can control that part of the brain with ease"

"Memory Erased, Sensors enabled, Test Subject will be awoken soon"

......................

I held onto my head tightly "Ow…why does it hurt so much?"

"Test Subject 002 has been awoken, checking database for any malfunction"

"What are you talking about? I feel weak and nauseous"

"Test Subject is experiencing Weakness and nausea, based on my database this is completely normal, you should take proper rest for the inception of the Test subjects to proceed to e-centre hall will be happening soon," she said leaving the room

"Okay…but wait"

"Yes, any more issues?'

"No…did anyone die? I mean were all the  transplants successful?"

"Yes, based on my database all transplant was successful except for some min…"

Unexpectedly the android started glitching

"Oh…, what happened?"

"Nothing, please take your rest"

"Weird... I'm glad no one died, that would have been bad, I still don't feel any different", I tried getting up but slumped onto the ground, I slowly got up using the seat as a rest, I walked around the room checking for anything interesting when I noticed a mirror, I stood at the mirror looking at myself, nothing seemed out of the ordinary except for the green crystal at the back of my neck, I tried touching it but it stunned my finger a little, I went toward the door when I was suddenly knocked over

"Hina…oh thank goodness, you're alright, I was so frightened, are you alright? you look pale"

"I'm good Misaki," I said steadying myself

"What of Himiko?"

"She's okay, she's just talking to that four eyes weirdo"

"Kaito?"

"Yeah, whatever, we are meant to return to the hall"

"Sure, let's go"

We stepped out of the room and headed to the hall just before the strange woman was about to talk

'Good, looks likes the two remaining participants decided to show up' I blushed 'please take care your seat'

We walked towards Himiko and sat down on the seats beside her 'the transplant was successful, I'm sure that some of you you didn't notice any change to your body except for the crystal at the back of your neck, the crystal is connected to your cerebellum and spinal cord, with that crystal you would be able to control your weapon without causing any permanent damage to your body, but I still advise you to train constantly so that your body will get used to it, so now all of you, follow me' she said as she walked out of the hall

We followed her behind, leaving the hall and entering a huge room with 9 pairs of the diamond-encrusted gauntlet with the green crystal in the middle floating in the centre of the room, "These gauntlets symbolizes the four elements; Fire, Water, Earth and Air, the element would be chosen by the crystal in your brain, put your hands forth and it will come towards you" I laid my hands forward as one of the pair of gauntlet came towards me reaching my hands and fitting perfectly like a glove, "Now, To activate the gauntlet say synchronization active"

"Synchronization Activate" we chorused

When a sudden flash of light and a spark of electricity soared through my body

"Now, to enable your weapons, simply slam your fist together, you can imagine any weapon of your choice, but use something you can easily handle"

"Looks like I got air, so I will form a tessen, "Misaki said waving her bright white fan "What of you Himiko?"

"I got water, maybe a whip"

" Hina, what about you?, Hina..."

I suddenly felt hot and weak, and I collapsed, I didn't know why but my heart felt like it was melting, I looked up when suddenly all eyes were on me, all of the gauntlets didn't seem to have any effect on them then why only me, I looked at the woman hoping for an answer when she looked at me and frowned

'Weak'

"What?" I asked, trying to get up but failing miserably

'Weak, your body is weak, appears like your body can't take it even though the transplant was successful'

I clenched my chest and tried breathing slowly when I felt hot tears flowing down my cheeks, I'm weak? what am I going to do when I can't even control my weapon

"Hina, can you breathe?" Himiko asked clinging to my hands desperately

"Of course, she can, why don't you just give up," one of the twins said

"What? and who are you?" Misaki asked

"My name is Yuzuki Hayashi," She said glaring at us

"And who are you tell her to give up?"

"That doesn't matter, what matters is that we don't need any dead weight to the team, so. Just. give. Up, Okay"

"You have no right to say that, the transplant was successful, and the lady over there said that our body will get used to the weapon if we use it regularly"

"Regularly? she can't even sta…"

'For now, we will continue to monitor Hinata, unless... she wants to give up?'

I still can't believe what's happening, the transplant was successful, then why can't I control it

"No" I tried getting up, thankfully Himiko and Misaki were by my side "I will train and learn to handle the gauntlet"

'I hope so, to disable the gauntlet, say Synchronization deactivate'

"Synchronization Deactivate," I said weakly as the burning sensation in my heart slowly faded

'Good, now I suggest going to your rooms, tomorrow is going to be a long day, I will send details about your room location' I felt the familiar sensation running through my brain 'your rooms are distributed based on your element, now you may go'

"Can you walk Hina? what's your element?" Misaki asked

"Earth"

"Earth, who else is on earth? I'm not sure if we are allowed to go to each other rooms"

"I'm earth"

"Huh, who are you?"

"I'm Daichi Ichimura," he said offering a hand with his bright red eyes shining brightly "I can take her to the room, you don't have to worry"

"Oh yes I do, one blonde-haired guy just comes and offer a hand, how can I be sure you wouldn't do anything stupid"

"It's okay Misaki, I'm not that weak, I can still walk, you don't have to worry" I turned to him and smiled "but thanks for the offer"

"I'm heading to my room now; see you guys in the morning"

I waved them goodbye and walked out of the hall, so far nothing has gone my way, I can't even control a freaking weapon then how am I going to fight a cloptex, I walked down the stairs and entered a new hallway, so far the information said my room would be right ahead, I turned left and saw a door with the name 'Earth' written in bold, I slowly unlocked the door and entered, the room was gigantic and warm, with three doors and had the Corps's emblem in the middle, I'm guessing the door led to our rooms, I moved into the room when I saw a dark figure

"Looks, like you're my new roommate"

I walked closer to him and realized that he was the dark-haired boy, I was relieved, at least he wasn't Yuzuki

He glared. "Pathetic"

"What?"

"You should have left when Yuzuki told you to, if you're not good at something then give up"

I stared at him. "Haruki right? you don't have the right to say that"

"Sure" he moved closer "but the weak should know their place," he said entering the room with his name on top

Rude and I thought he was good, I closed my eyes and took deep breaths, I know what I'm here for and I don't need their opinion, all that matters are avenging my siblings' death and bringing peace back into the world, I stared at my gauntlet, its steel embrace made chills run down my spine, I had to get used to this weapon no matter what, I opened the door to my room and was greeted with a warm breeze, I closed the door and jumped onto my bed, removing my gauntlet and placing it on my bedstand, not even bothering to take off my shoes I dozed off.
