Chapter 14 - chapter 14

Ava

I think I had passed out for a while. my head was pounding and I felt nauseated. every time I was opening my eyes, the room wouldn't stop spinning and the sicker I felt. They were always found and laughing at whatever the other had said and the other guy seemed to stay close to me now. I felt more at ease around him for some unknown reason. Maybe because he said he would help me but that didn't mean I wasn't cautious. It could be a trap all of them had set.

My main worry was Zorn.

He must have got to where I was taken from. He must know something wasn't right and had come looking for me.

I hoped he was searching for me and the thought of that lessened my fear of these men. No matter what they would do to me, Zorn would kill them all, even if I didn't make it.

"You'd shit yourself if one were in front of you!" one bellowed, causing the others to laugh. One, on the other hand, sat red-faced and seemed embarrassed. He sat in silence and refused to look up at the others, letting the others bully him.

"Well, women do like a bigger cock and you sure have to compensate dude."

I saw the guy next to me cringe and pull a face at that comment.

huh?

Within seconds the man stood up and charged at the other that commented, his expression clouded with rage, knocking him over and beginning to hit him. The other guy however just laughed it off and so did the others, seemingly not bothered by the altercation.

"Hey, do you know what they want with me then?" I whispered to him, sneaking glances at the ground to ensure they were listening in on the conversation. With each moment I remained tied to the chair, I anxiously thought about Zorn.

He must have got to the place where I had activated the locator. He must have known something wasn't right. There's no way he would abandon me. He wouldn't… he said I was mate, his soul bond and that meant everything to him, but I knew if he was looking for me he would t stand a chance alone against all of these men, no matter how strong he thought he was.

The thought of him getting hurt because of me sent a shudder through my body so hard that I closed my eyes. Thinking the worse wasn't getting me anywhere. I needed all the help I could get.

"Just keep your head down and don't provoke the head. He'll be here soon to transport the goods which include any women we find, so don't shout. Don't fight-not yet. Not until I can figure a way to get you out safely." His head remained down as he fiddled with whatever he had in his hands. It was so small not even I could see it from where I sat.

I sighed.

"So what do I call you then?" I asked, wiggling my fingers, attempting to try and get some feeling back into my hands. the ropes were too tight around my limbs, cutting off circulation and making my fingers and feet tingle.

"Ok... who's this head I need to watch out for then?"

"Just someone who doesn't care who you are, he will gut you if you look at him funny. Trust me, I will get you out of here but you need to trust me."

I bit my lip. This wasn't a good idea at all but without him, I would end up dead quicker and I did not like that thought one bit. I continued to wiggle my finger and tested the rope a few times to see if it would loosen. With all the movement, I thought the rope felt looser and I couldn't help the smirk from appearing and with my hair covering my face, no one could see my expression.

The men abruptly stopped talking, causing me to look up at them. I noticed that they all stood and robbed their drinks or whatever they were smoking and stared at the door. They instantly sobered up.

When I looked over, there was an old man. His white hair stood out against his olive skin, making it seem like his hair was glowing. He was built for fighting, that was certain, and his body filled the doorway.

My heart races knowing that there was something not right about this man. He gave off weird energy that made me want to hide. Made me want to scream and run however, being tied to the chair prevented me from doing so.

"Hey boss, I thought you were coming until tomorrow morning." one of the men said, his voice trembling as he walked forward to him. He looked nervous. Afraid of the man.

He must have been the 'head'.

"Plans change." He said bitterly, his body hunched over as he stepped through the doorway. "The ruck is here to move what we got, so let's go and you better not make me late for the game."

Everyone hurriedly moved, packing up stuff around them and were in and out of the door, moving as quickly as they could and I watched them all clear the room, while I was still tied up. After a while, the man next to me stood and brushed off his clothes. I didn't realise how young he looked up close as he picked me up as if I weighed nothing and threw me over his shoulder. I yelped and wiggled about over his shoulder, trying to lift my head up to see where we were going.

I could hear the rumbling of a vehicle. People brushed past us quickly while loading the truck, moving back and forth with heavy boxes. I couldn't see what they were moving but it must have been important.

"I'm stepping up to the truck to place you on the floor. Remember to be still."

"Can't you at least tell me your name?"

I heard him chuckle and he lowered me onto the floor of the truck. It was a tight squeeze with all the men piling in and I craned my neck to look up at him. He simply smiled and leaned down to my level.

"Call me Dusty."

Dusty… I wanted to laugh. The irony of it was that he was covered in mud and dust. And while I closed my eyes and leaned my cheek against the metal floor, I prayed my escape would be soon. Otherwise… I would have to fight my way out. People would get hurt but at the same time, that didn't bother me.
