Shaking off that unpleasant thought, Solis carefully picked up the items and inspected them one by one. First up were several small red and blue potion bottles, and just by going off their looks, he could already ascertain as to what these items were.

He accepted them all quickly without much thought before examining the other items in the pile. The next thing that caught his eye was a few accessories lying there on the blood-soaked dirt. There were a pair of earrings, a bracelet, a necklace, and two different rings.

The same thing as before he scooped them all up, and with that, his previously empty inventory space must've been looking real good right now with the addition of all this loot he got from killing the fat-ass ogre. Just the thought of it caused him to smirk unknowingly, making him completely forget about the near-death experience he had moments ago and the gross scene that followed afterward.
'Yep, I knew it. Killing and looting in video games is the way to go!'
He cheered on the inside and then went ahead to the last item. It was a thick and heavy book with stylish inscriptions and magical symbols inscribed on it.
[Place the 'Charging Force Skillbook' into your inventory? Yes/No]
"Jackpot! Today's my lucky day."
For the last time, he pressed the 'Yes' option as the skillbook he held in his hands disappeared from sight. After all of that, he opened up the Game Menu to access his Inventory.
What once was a desolate place was now considerably filled with an assortment of useful items. For now, he tapped the best item he obtained, which was the Magician's Robe to see its details—

Solis couldn't help but let out a sharp whistle, then grin with satisfaction. A complete newbie like him, who just started the game, was instantly given a rare item from the get-go. How could he not be feeling over the moon right now?
'What a great find!'
He immediately wanted to try it out for himself, and so, he pressed the 'Equip' option straight away. However, it unexpectedly didn't let him wear it as a small pop-up window informed him: [The player has to be level 10 to equip this item.]
"Aww… Seriously? After all that hard work, even putting my life on the line, I can't even get to equip it?"
Of course, Solis already understood this same old MMORPG mechanic. Still, that didn't mean he wasn't feeling a bit upset over this matter. Anyone in his shoes would feel the same way looking at a great item just within their grasp but being unable to use it.
"Haaa… Well, no use crying over it. Hopefully, I could at least equip the other items."
With a hopeful heart full of anticipation, he opened up the details of every item he got as they hovered and displayed themselves in front of him via multiple small pop-up windows—

Upon looking at each and every one of the small windows that floated in the air and reading their contents, a smile crept on Solis' face as it blew away the previous dissatisfaction he had earlier. He especially liked the five different accessories that he obtained since he could equip them right away.
"It's just too bad though that I can't use the Charging Force Skillbook. It would have been the icing on the cake if I had that lightning field skill that the fat ogre manipulated."
Thinking back on how he almost died because of that deadly skill that took him by surprise, Solis couldn't help but involuntarily shudder.
In order for him to use the item though, it required him to have a lightning affinity rank of 1, which he currently didn't possess. The only elemental affinities that he had on him were Darkness, Space, and Time. When he checked if he could press the 'Use' option on the consumable item for good measure, it showed him that the box the word was written on being colored gray and faded out.
'Why am I doing such a useless thing?'
Solis exhaled a breath through his nose, but he didn't take the slight disappointment to heart. Instead, what he did was excitedly equip the newly acquired accessories sitting on his inventory. One after another—earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, and two rings marvelously appeared on his person. After which he once again went to the Game Menu and Character section to check his Status Window.

The Agility stat was supposed to be the highest number here prior to equipping all of the accessories. But now, his Vitality stat was clearly the superior attribute, with the Strength stat firmly gaining second place (both of which having only a two-point difference).
Currently, Solis had upgraded his character's health points to 250 HP, and his raw damage without the use of a weapon to 75 Physical Attack. His health points used to be 100 HP, while his Physical Attack was a measly 10—all of the numerical increases definitely made him feel like he was now a fleshed-out adventurer ready to take on the world.
'I've finally taken my foot off from the starting point!'
