"It's nice to meet you too, Solis." Grazier flashed a smile before continuing, "Okay then, with your name out of the way let's go to your appearance."
"My appearance, huh?"
"Mm. The most important aspect of choosing your appearance though is what race you're going to be. So please, pick a race from this variety of options."
At her words, another holographic screen appeared in front of Solis. This time, however, it showed him the different kinds of playable races inside the game. With his curiosity piqued, Solis quickly skimmed through the list by swiping to the right. He saw all sorts of unique physiques, skin tones and textures, facial structures, and strange appendages.
After giving a cursory glance at everything, Solis looked up from the catalog and met eyes with Grazier to tell her what he thought.
"Man, there's quite an abundance in the selection, ain't there? Honestly, I'm spoiled for choice here."
"Yes, the magnitude of options presented before you can be very overwhelming. But there's a reason for that, as there are many different people who each have their own tastes and preferences for the way they want to look. It is to make sure that everyone is fully satisfied with their decision." She replied.
"I get that. Thou fortunate, however, for I already have an idea of what I want to be. So you won't have to wait idly by while I take a look at every single race offered one at a time."
"Oh? That is indeed great news. And can you perhaps tell me what it is?"
"Alright. Here are my demands: I want a race whose greatest attribute is speed and agility; the appearance doesn't matter to me, whether they're an attractive race or not holds no ounce of significance. I'm all about practicality. And aside from their quickness, the race needs to be able to deal high amounts of damage from a single attack. Got anything like that here?"
"Hmm…"
Grazier put her delicate fingers on her luscious lips as she pondered. Then, a moment later, she waved her hand in the air and the catalog on the holographic screen suddenly changed. Now, there were fewer races displayed to choose from, and they apparently have targeted all of his requirements.
"As you've demanded, these are all the races that have high attack power and swiftness. Go ahead and select from these bunch."
"Thanks."
Solis got down to business once more and carefully assessed his choices. In total, there were about seventeen races proposed to him, hence it still took a while to eliminate some of the options.
"Okay, so I'm finally left with these guys."
Ultimately, he managed to reduce the races to only seven, all of which suited his requirements pretty well. They were the Wind Elf, Vampire, Speed Devil, Agila Vastaya, Lobo Vastaya, Merman, and Red Orc.
And so, another round of attentive evaluation ensued—only this time though, Solis turned to look at Grazier one more time to make a request.
"Yo Grazier, can you give me the details and descriptions of these races?"
"Of course. Which ones?"
"The Wind Elf, Vampire, Speed Devil, Agila Vastaya, Lobo Vastaya, Merman, and Red Orc."
"I see... Understood. So, the first one—the Wind Elf Race—is a branch of the Elven Race that, you've guessed it, specializes in wind magic. Harnessing the powers of the wind, they become extremely agile creatures with high perception that ranks number one in the entire Elven Race. Their weapon of choice is usually a bow, but they can also perform well with a set of daggers. However, they're not very durable and lack vitality. And, as per part of the Elven Race characteristic, they are exceptionally pretty creatures. I guess that's an added bonus, right?"
"As I've said before, Grazier; appearances don't matter to me. Anyway, please continue."
"The second one is the Vampire. A special characteristic of the Vampiric Race is their Lifesteal power, and the ability to transform into numerous bats to move around quickly and with ease. They harness the powers of blood and dark magic, and they are also skilled in close-quarters combat in addition to their magical proficiency. At night, their Vampiric prowess is doubled, thus becoming a real menace to the other races. Lastly, because they need to drink blood daily, they are able to retain their youthful visages indefinitely. Oh, and might I add that they're good-looking."
"You didn't have to mention the last part, Grazier."
"Really~? Although, for someone who says he doesn't care about the looks of his character, you sure have chosen some pretty handsome races not gonna lie~"
Solis pulled a frown as he found the amused smirk on Grazier's face kind of irritating. He was being incessantly teased by this little witch, something he would not stand for.
"Let me reiterate for you then; what I said earlier—whether their attractive or not holds no ounce of significance. I'm all about practicality. The fact that these races I've picked are attractive is merely a coincidence."
"Mm, mm. Indeed, you say that. But they are attractive though, you won't disagree with me on that point, right~?"
"…Please, just continue with the descriptions already."
"Okay, okay. Sheesh, is it so hard to admit to that fact?"
"..." Solis didn't respond as he mutely stared at her with indifference.
Seeing this, Grazier let out a sigh while shrugging her shoulders. Apparently, he didn't find getting made fun of by a cute girl all that enjoyable, or maybe he just really disliked having his contradictory remarks pointed out to him.
"What a serious guy you are, Solis. Anyhow, the third race you've picked—the Speed Devil Race—is a branch of the great Devil Race that lords over the entire Demon Continent. They have both unmatched movement and attack speed. As for their attack damage, it is nothing short of deadly. The Speed Devils are one of the most lethal assassins in the whole world and are widely feared by every race, even their very own. Alas, in exchange for such superb lethality they can be killed by almost anyone; that is if you can even catch up to them in order to deal a blow."
"Hoo~ Color me interested in this one then. The Speed Devil Race, huh... So far, they're just right up my alley."
"Fufufu~ This is the first time you've shown such a positive reaction to a race that I've introduced. Is it perhaps because the Speed Devils are not as handsome compared to the Wind Elves and Vampires? Are you saying this now to prove your point from earlier~?"
"…Shut up, Grazier."
