Chapter 2 - 2 Unexpected

"Wa'alaikumussalam," we answered in unison, then sat the tall perfect man in my eyes on the chair we had prepared. The sweetest tablecloth I've had has been laid out with dishes that were appetizing to me.

"Uhm Dad, Inez must have told me about my intention to come. We have been in a relationship with you for a long time, with the intention of wanting to propose and marry Inez, if Dad allows when you have time, I'll bring my parents here. We also don't want to be dating for a long time. Age we deserved it." Arman said that very smoothly to my father, he said it very lightly, did he feel that lightly too? In fact, I was sweating coldly and my heart was beating harder and harder.

"Father, Mother, Arman is not a rich person and has no rank, but with the gift of these two hands, Arman will be responsible, work smart and hard and strive for the happiness of your daughters, being the leader of the hereafter." Wow, these extra words make me shudder even more.

Where did he get these words, while the romance I have felt so far is not as heavy as his words that he is currently saying in front of my mother and father. My father's silence for a long time made me impatient to hear his approval, because we wanted to get married soon.

Slowly my father began to speak, but stammered a bit. Was it my dad who was nervous? Or is it that my father doesn't seem willing to let go of his only daughter to be immediately proposed to and owned by another man besides himself?

"Arman, Father appreciates the good intentions and sincerity of Arman, moreover all this time I have known you, for me, Arman is a perfect real man, but Father ..." Father's answer seemed to be heavy.

"I apologize to you. I can't accept your wish. I'm sorry I just said this. I already have a candidate for Inez." continued the father who was really outside

I guess what about him?!

Ddduargh, this heart feels like it's breaking, is this ear not hearing wrong? My father who never opposed my relationship, never said anything, suddenly rejected Arman's wish? Haven't they been joking and discussing together? a lot of times it's like.

"What do you mean Dad? Is this a joke, Dad? Or just a prank? Say Dad." This chest is so tight, I hope this is just a joke Dad. Arman looks with enlarged eyes and gaping lips implied from the look on his face he is very shocked. I looked at my mother directly looking down not moving her lips at all.

"Answer Dad, what is this?" I groaned in front of my father, in an angry tone.

"Nez ... please don't talk first, let us talk between men, listen first," interrupted Dad.

"Father, has Arman wronged you? Has Arman treated Inez bad all this time?" His voice, which had always been light, now sounded hoarse and heavy.

"No son, this is purely on Father, this is because Father already has a candidate for Inez," Dad explained briefly.

"Hah??!!??" I said in unison with Arman.

"Who's dad? why didn't you ever say it? I don't want another candidate. I just want Arman, hiks hiks hiks." I couldn't help but shed tears, apparently Dad wasn't joking about saying this. Why wasn't there talk about this before?

"Inez, Arman, I think you are both employees at the company, there is no guarantee that your PT will continue to run well, later you will have children. How will my daughter continue to work hard to think about the increasing costs, while you have been working for five years? there was no change of position whatsoever. I'm sorry Arman, it's not that I'm demeaning you, but I just want the best for Inez." It was so good for my father to give an explanation based on his logic, without thinking about my feelings, my heart as well as his heart.

"Father, are you afraid of being poor? Come on, Dad, I'm an only child and I won't be poor, we can support ourselves, believe me, Dad, Dad isn't God who has already determined this and that," I asked my father, but he seemed not ignore me.

"Candidate Inez is a marketing manager at an ALKES company that is growing rapidly. I'm sure he is the best for my daughter. Arman, if you love Inez, you definitely want Inez's happiness, right? His parents are very good friends of Dad. I know all of his family. Arman when you have a daughter you will know." Arman's gaze remained blank and there was no response at all to Dad's explanation. I looked away at the mother who had not dared to lift her face. Tears also adorn her beautiful face, although it looks smooth there.

Mother!!! Is it possible that you don't know all this? Why didn't mommy shut up? Why suddenly today my Mom and Dad ruined my world. I will be destroyed if I am separated from Arman ma'am," I whined as I pushed the chair and I stood up. My mother, who had been holding back tears, burst into tears.

"I'm sorry, Inez. I've spoken to your father, but all the decisions are in your father's hands, and every time I want and try to tell you, I never can."

I see Arman who is trying to be strong in dealing with this, maybe because he is a man who doesn't want to look fragile, I don't want to say that he is not gentle, but I really know Arman. His sadness must be more than mine. He loves me very much, so far he has never turned away or is not angry at me at all.

I immediately grabbed his hand I didn't care anymore. It's enough for me to be a good girl. Sometimes I rebel.

"Let's go Arman, maybe things will get colder and my father will change his mind when we get back." Even though I've stood & stepped. Arman didn't even move from his chair.

"No Inez, your father isn't done talking yet," he said.

"Inez, let go of your hand from Arman, he is nobody to you. From now on, Father, who is your witness, is breaking up and you can't have any more contact. Father's decision is unanimous, Arman ... I have apologized to you, please understand. Leave Inez, she will marry another man." Dad's loud tone stopped me from wanting to grab Arman's hand, hoping to get out of here, so I could wake up from this nightmare.

"I'm sorry too, Father. If there have been mistakes, intentionally or unintentionally, if Dad asks to decide Inez, Arman will accept it, but to leave her. Arman can't promise Dad," said Arman, shaking his head slowly.

With the tone getting heavier as it came out was not his voice. I've never heard her voice this hoarse.

"Everything needs a process, son. I know it will be hard but, please don't come here anymore, Arman. Inez let go of her hand. Father ordered you, let Arman go."

"Father is that cruel to Arman? The man who always took care of me, guarded Father's honor, even Father kicked him out before he said goodbye. What sin did he do to Father huh? the manager's money, Dad," I argued to Dad.
