Chapter 6 - The Universal Divide and Returning to The Meeting Place of Gods - Part 2

〘Continuing on from the Meeting Place of Gods, shortly after we left〙

As everyone was rushing around the vast expanse of white a sudden space portal opened up above where the body of the old man, Mhati, Svågrad, Telia and Ílæ were , the four Goddesses tending to him. From this portal stepped a tall man with lazy eyes and hair that looked as if it had been through a cyclone. You could imagine that he had just woken up and wasn't too impressed about it from the look in his half closed eyes.

Mhati looked up and shouted without reservation, "Kūzō you lazy bum! Wake up sooner when someone calls for you! Geez."

He looked down at the kneeling Goddess and slowly walked through the air, down what could only be described as an invisible staircase. As he was moving he replied, "Shut it Mhati, I've been extra busy for the past thousand years so I sleep a lot now, deal with it! Anyway, what's all this and what's this rubbish on the floor?"

"You shut up! Go talk to Michi, now! We don't have a lot of time."

He clicked his tongue and proceeded to begrudgingly look for Michi. Usually he wouldn't listen to anyone, refusing to do anything if he didn't feel like it (and he never felt like it), but Mhati was technically older than him so she was his big sister and she took that role very seriously.

At the beginning of time, when all the Gods and Goddesses were newly born, he would start to argue with her at this point in the conversation, but over the tens of thousands of years he learnt one thing: she was so much stronger than him that it wasn't funny.

The three New Era Goddesses beside Mhati sniggered and giggled at seeing their unruly Uncle being totally controlled by his big sister. "Must be nice to have a little brother." came their three lovely voices, overlapping as they expressed their minds at the same time.

"Well too bad, little munchkins! Only girls are born into your generation, so you'll all have to settle for little sisters." Mhati said as she patted Svågrad's head and tried to comfort them. She couldn't help questioning The Forgotten One as to why they couldn't birth Gods into the next generation. She quite liked all her big and little brothers.

BOOM!

CRASH!

A humongous commotion flooded the previously peaceful area as large amounts of exotic and strange looking materials manifested themselves a few feet above the ground before unceremoniously crashing to the ground. Michi and Odā were stood next to one of the piles with sheepish smiles on their faces. They were both the most mischievous siblings amongst the Gods and Goddesses.

"Sorry you lot! Bit noisy, but we got everything Taith and Asao were needing in such a short amount of time!" Michi grinned as he said.

Most of those present imagined they felt like a mortal would when suffering a heart attack, glaring at the two rascals of the family. Only, one glare was missing. "MmmmMM! GuuHumUU!!" came the muffled cry from under one of the most titanic piles of materials.

They all looked at one another as if trying to guess who it was. That was until Mhati said, matter-of-factly, "Ha, serves him right for being late."

Pa!

Kūzō, looking even more dishevelled, broke his way through the scales of a divine Monstrous Creature at the top of a pile. "Hey, dickhead-Michi! You did that on purpose, right!??!" No one seemed to care though, much less Michi, as they continued on with what they were doing.

"Oi, lazy bum! Come here and talk to Taith! He needs to use you-- I mean, he wants to ask you to act as a space-time conduit from here to the realm of our creator, since that is your domain. And before you ask, don't ask questions, just hurry up and talk it out and get it done. We're in a damn hurry now!" came the booming voice of Michi as he sorted out the materials they would need the most in the upcoming ceremony.

"Tch."

Soon after Asao and Kūzō were writing and drawing on the floor and in the air surrounding the collapsed old man with copious amounts of Monstrous Creature blood and many other exotic materials, preparing for the transference ceremony as well as for the old man's rebirth. More than half of the material collected was for the latter.

Taith on the other hand was kneeling alongside Mhati at the centre, discussing the rebirth of the Forgotten One's son.

"M-Mhati, you mean he needs parents for his rebirth? We're not just going to reform his body?? B-but we usually just reform their bodies." Taith nervously stuttered after hearing Mhati out on her ideas.

"Yes, he needs parents. We can't just reform him as he's 'special', you get me? He needs his parents to be compatible with his current body; meaning they need to be both divine as his Mātua, and of the Ælf as his mother was. Remember, The Forgotten One especially loved the Ælf ningens, being the first they created and doted on."

"Now, who do you think fits the bill?" she whispered into his ear with a flirtatious look on her face, raising her eyebrows comically.

With a blush that started at his neck and finished on his ears Taith agreed, "Put those eyebrows away, I know what you m-mean! We both also love the Ælf species, to the extent we even created our own sub-species. So we do fit the bill, but is it appropriate? We would, for all intent and purposes, be his parents! It's a heavy responsibility... And then there's also--" After speaking to this point he looked over his shoulder looking for Asao, somewhat nervous.

Smooch~!

She kissed his cheek as he was distracted and faced the right way for easy cheek-kissing access, "You're kind of cute, you know that? If you're looking for Asao she's busy but has told me she thinks it's a perfect thing for us. Plus Svå-chan would get an adorable brother, albeit one that she'll not get to see again all that soon, but she'll still get a brother which she would love." She was now dangling on his arm, coquettishly persuading him.

Taith sighed, whilst his blush grew in magnitude to cover his whole-body.

He faced her and leaned forward, cupping the back of her head with his right hand before passionately kissing her which caught her entirely by surprise as it was out of Taith's character. "Okay, we'll be his parents. As such we should give him the best of starts, right? And I mean THE best of starts. How about we make him a pure-divine body?"

Without waiting for a reply and without hesitation he proceeded to rip off his right arm, placing it carefully on top of the lifeless looking old man in front of them. He smiled at Mhati before collapsing onto the ground as he had to exert a lot of authority to injure himself.

When Mhati first saw what was happening she froze, only coming around when she saw Taith collapse. "TAITH! You friggin idiot! You're supposed to be the calm and collected one of us three! Crapcrapcrapcrap, hurry, it all needs to be done as quickly as we can." she shouted out to all those in the meeting place. "Asao, help me take care of this idiot! Crap, are we ready? You only just star--" she was panicking now. Asao cut her off, "We're ready for the first stage, and we'll be ready for the second stage soon! Don't worry."

Mhati gritted her teeth as she too ripped off an arm, her left, and placed it with its fingers intertwined with the idiot's arm. She knew what he meant now, giving this old man THE best of starts. He meant to give him an actual Gods body; for him to actually become their full son!

Looking back at said idiot in the embrace of her Asao, a single tear was shed and fell onto the old man making him glow ever so slightly. "Everybody, are we ready??"

In answer came the divine glow of all the Gods and Goddesses assembled as they funnelled their divine power into the inner part of the formation laid out. This was the first stage of the formation that dealt with rebirth, Mhati's wheelhouse, as such she played the most important part here.

Clutching the now healing and wriggling stump of her left arm she proceeded to start chanting:

Upon finishing her chant she looked clammy and pallor, something she did not expect to happen as she had done this sort of ceremony a fair few times throughout her life as a Goddess. But in her hurry she had forgotten that the creature she was rebirthing was not a mortal from the world below but the son of their creator.

Her focus shifted for a second, feeling that if she was feeling like this then Taith should look and feel exactly like his loving wife as he too had to give consent for his flesh to rebirth the old man.

In front of all their heated gazes the body of the old man started to dissolve and give off an otherworldly glow, floating up around the now suspended conjoined arms. Slowing the glowing… soup… of the old man started to flow and surround the arms creating the primordial outline of a child.

The meeting place shuddered as the form of the child finally condensed, which made the Gods and Goddesses nearly shit themselves! They jumped to their feet, ready to flee as cracks seemed to form in mid-air around them, mainly concentrated around the floating child.

"Now, start the second stage. Start the transfer before he fully forms! It should be easier to place protections on him now.", the waning and worried voice of Mhati reverberated out bringing the others to their senses before she collapsed into unconsciousness from over-stressing her spirit.

No sooner had she collapsed everyone started channelling their divine might into the second stage of the formation. What followed mostly mirrored what happened at The Forgotten Shrine, just that the Gods and Goddesses didn't make any self-sacrifices as they had ample resources at hand.

As the cocoon shot through the floor of the meeting place all those present started to relax and clean up after the ceremony. However they had all failed to notice a similar looking cocoon pop into existence as soon as theirs disappeared, now sitting where they had just sent off their little cocoon!

Suddenly the voice of Yujin, Michi's wife, who had been preparing supper for the overtaxed deities came ringing out, "What, is there a clearance on unexpected deliveries of late!? We sent one away and immediately got one back in return?"
