Chapter 15 - CHAPTER 15: ADMITTED II

Toku and Antonio both entered the convertible and were then on their way to ITI. Although the road was busy, there wasn't any serious traffic which was as a result of the road being fairly large and the properly functioning traffic lights.

An hour and a half later, they both arrived at the gates of ITI and after going through some security scans, they were allowed to enter the vicinity. They parked at the parking lot as before, walked by the golden statues that Toku still didn't know who or what they represented before entering into the admininstrative building of ITI.

Just like before the place was bustling and was as lively as ever. The different counters around the hall on the ground floor was occupied with different customer as the attendants were attending to them. Walking up to a counter, they met the same person they met when they were around yesterday, the man still had his well gelled hair which was combed back and his well practiced professional smile.

"Welcome to ITI how can I help you...oooh it's you lot" the attendant exclaimed as he remembered the faces od Toku and Antonio.

"I'm guessing you got admitted if you have come back here today" the attendant said as he turned to smile even wider at Toku.

" Exactly, so if you could be so kind as to instruct us on where we should go" Antonio replied thus agreeing to the atrendants claim,

"Will do sir, just follow me" the attendant said as he led Toku and Antonio down a long corridor. In the hall, there were different paintings and also different weapons and amor around. And among all the paintings Toku noticed that some appeared more often than the rest and these paintings seem to resemble the huge statues that Toku saw outside just before entering the administrative building of ITI.

" Please who are the people in the painting, they look somewhat similar to the golden statues in front of the administrative building" Toku asked the attendant who was acting as their guide.

The inspector stopped and looked at Toku with an incredulous expression plastered on his face. In the entire world amongst the human specie, there was no one who didn't know the people in the paintings or the golden statues. And to see someone ask such a ridiculous question the attendant could't help but gaze at Toku suspiciously.

In every human continent, there will always be a statue of these people in every country of these continents. These people were considered heroes by humans, they stood as a symbol of hope, love, respect, integrity and every other good virtue they could think of.

" You see he is a little retarded and tends to ask some off the key questions so please pay him no mind" Antonio said as he noticed the attendant was getting a little suspicious about them.

" Oooh....I see am sorry" The attendant said as he understood what Antonio wanted to say, he then turned to Toku and had sadness written all over his face, piting the poor retarded Toku.

Toku was annoyed, he turned to Antonio to give him a cold stare but Antonio wasn't even paying attention to him but continued to walk forward with the attendant.

"Well I guess I can just explain a little bit, well you see it all happened almost a millenial ago, you see at that time we humans didn't have these specail innate abilities we have now, we were just ordinary. But all that changed when we were attacked by the demons" the attendant said all this with a hint of sadness and anger mixed in his voice, Toku then continued walking with them as the attendant resumed narrating.

" The entire human race was imprisoned and enslaved, it didn't matter if you were once a ruler of a country, a wealthy merchant with enough authority or even a new born baby, we were all enslaved. All who resisted or even tried to resist were killed immedaitely, it was the dark age of the human race, we lost almost half our race at that time" the attendant stopped again to catch his breath and it seemed a drop of tear rolled down his cheek, it just goes to show that the attendant was a really emotional person. Toku looked at Antonio and he too also had a slightly solemn face which Toku had never seen before, although he hadn't spent a lot of time with him, Toku believed Antonio would never look as sad as this even if his closest friend died, which was how all soldier were trained. All these made Toku believe that attendant wasn't lieing at all.

"But when we were about to loose hope that was when they appeared, the first humans with an innate ability, legend has it that with only a wave of their hands, they could level a whole city that has a range of hundreds of miles. They fought against the leaders of demon race, they won but at the cost of their lives, they didn't kill them but were only able to seal them away. And after their deaths that is when the discovery of deviated cells took place, that is why we regard them as heroes of our race" the attendant finished with his narration, the corridor which was somewhat noisy was now silent as though it too was paying it's homage to the dead heroes with some minutes of silence. After walking in silence for some minutes, Toku spoke up

" So such a thing happened so many years ago, no wonder you all respect them so much" Toku commented as he too was feeling a little bit solemn after listening to the naration.

" That is why we honour them so much....oooh we are here " the attendant said as they arrived in front of a room that was closed with two door.

" welcome to ITI" the attendant said as he opened the door to reveal a hall that was filled with kids that seemed to be around the same age as Toku.
