Chapter 2 - Fluke?

Klauz dismounted from his Lightspeed, a Dodge Tomahawk super-bike which was a non-street legal bike but who would question him when his father was one of the fifth richest tycoon of Asia. His Patek Philippe watch showed that it was 8 o'clock in the morning.

Generally, Klauz wouldn't bring out Lightspeed in the day because he felt laws should be abided by and undue perks which were not due to his efforts did not settle well with him. However, the mighty Klauz was scared of the nearly dead woman in the hospital as that person had the ability to throw Klauz's mind out of balance. Lightspeed and Patek Philipe were his lucky charm to cheer him on. Walking to the hospital gate, he noticed two black SUV's reflected on his gold rimmed glasses. This did not sit well with him.

Immediately retracing his steps back, he went to Lightspeed with an attitude of forgetting something. Opening the front board, he started raking through some papers when he saw a man, in the rear view mirror, leave the SUV wearing casual clothes.

The man walked up to Klauz smartly and tapped on his shoulder. Smiling, Klauz turned back and said,

"Hello Uncle. Long time no see."

" How are you niece? Fine? Eat more. You look so lean." he replied.

" Here your aunt sent you some souvenirs. I'm in a hurry son. Come visit us once. ", saying so he handed Klauz a paper bag.

"Thank you Uncle. Give Aunt my regards. Bye. Take care." Klauz replied.

The man left in the black SUV. Klauz took out his phone and texted Team Green to scan for long rangers around his specified coordinates.

The underworld had a lot of codes to follow and traps to look out for. Most probably, long rangers which was the code for snipers, could be sitting 1 meter far in one of those high storeyed buildings aiming a head shot at him. One wrong move and his brains could be scattered on the ground before the police disguised in civilian dresses, called dogs, can guess what happened. He had to act informal with the stranger due to the presence of dogs all around him. With a ting, a text popped up on his home screen,

"The day is clear now and I love dogs."

Meaning no snipers around him at the current moment but they were here a moment before and many dogs were around him.

He texted Team Red to come to his coordinates as fast as possible. Sighing, he placed the phone in his pocket then started to ponder what the package, car, conversation meant. The SUV's were well armed with man power but they left a package which meant they wanted a deal . However, they would resort to forces in the middle of a crowded area if deal was not considered and that was the extent of their desperation regarding the deal which meant it was pretty important.

Secondly he said he was in a hurry which probably meant 'take decisions fast' . "You look so lean" meant don't try to be uncooperative for you have no people on you at the moment. This deal in the paper bag was---

"Yo Klauz! Waited long, bud?" a muscular guy of his age spoke up. It was Tew, his childhood friend, one of the Red Team. Tew was a very cunning guy, known to the ways of the world, after having a drunken father for his parent and mother, who had died right before his eyes beaten to death when he was five years old. His heart had a low emotional quotient but towards Klauz he nurtured a brotherly protective instinct. He would never let harm in Klauz's way and the nearly dead woman or Kafika (as he had found out by joining clues and hacking into Klauz's father's database) looked more than harm.

"Cool guys. Take it from here. Room 203. On guard." Klauz muttered under his breath.

Mounting his bike , he shouted, " Wad speak up more! You look old for your age!"

"Hmpf! Take care." Wahid replied.

Wahid was the last member of the Red Team and also the probably the first person who actually cared for Klauz's well being. Wahid didn't have the art of diplomacy and was way introverted but in the dirty, cheap underworld his heart shone out. He meant every syllable he spoke and wouldn't bat an eye to die for his friends. Surely his and Klauz's encounter was an strange one but their brotherhood was way stranger.

Parabatais as they were , they would stay by each other forever.

Klauz trusted in them, his right and left hand they were, but somehow he ended up doubting them at that moment . Kafika seemed to make self-doubt arise in him without doing anything.

Revving up the bike, Klauz prayed that they could guard Kafika whose name Tew said, the hospitalized woman, for five minutes. He had some quick business to tend to and he hoped time for the deal didn't run out by then. Not wanting Kafika to be there when the hospital was being raided, he accelerated to 150 km/hr.

Parking haphazardly out his office, Klauz smirked on seeing the female postman. The silenced gun on his belt was itching to be used but being hasty will only chase the prey away.

"Sir, your parcel shipped from Amazon. Please sign here. " the postman said moving forward.

"As usual Amazon lives up to it's name of fast delivery. Such hard working people. Care for a drink?" he replied.

"Thank you Sir but no." she replied.

"Okay. One moment." Saying so Klauz went to his front board of Lightspeed, and took out all the papers. Holding them in both of his hand, he unlocked the main door using his voice. He looked back and said,

"My hand's full. Do me a favor and place the parcel on the sofa."

The postman hesitated for a flicker of moment and then moved inside to place it in the nearest shoe shelf. The door closed and within the silence, a booming voice spoke up,

"Yamada group."

It wasn't a threat, or a question, the sentence did not keep any place for arguments or any answer, it was an assertive fact. The voice brought goosebumps all over her body. Frankly, she knew she had been spotted the moment she saw him however she hoped to escape him. To be in front of a member of the Zenith mafia gang, the most widespread and feared mafia network was beyond her imagination. Not much was known of them apart from the fact that they were merciless and their logo. Their logo was a roaring lion on his four with two swords in a defensive stance crossed in the front. The exact logo was painted in gold on one of the corner of the paper that he was holding . She should have thought out the job offer when it was handed to her at such a high price . In a last attempt, she turned back to feign her ignorance but blackness welcomed her with open arms.

"Not even worth the bullet. Yamada seems to have lost the touch. Maybe deal was a fluke but nobody gets to touch my Kafika. " Klauz thought.

"My Kafika?" he thought , genuinely surprised.

" Freudian slip." muttering he passed the lying body with heads full of thoughts on the deal, the girl and Kafika.

Some things didn't add up.

A storm was brewing and many questions remain unanswered.
