Chapter 8 - Chapter VIII

In Venezuela today, the diversity of people with different characters, academic and work training is observed who work in a very diverse and even creative way in many areas. That is, it is very common to see professionals entering the world of sales and commerce, alternating jointly with their work for which they prepared and studied, they simply do what they like even if they earn very little and being aware that alternative work they have, be the only one who can meet their needs. They are willing to do all kinds of alternative work, as long as they don't stop doing what they like. In this sense, it is very common to see engineers working in their office in the morning and in the afternoon to see them doing decoration and crafts work or as a taxi driver, for example. It is also impressive to see doctors working in hospitals and clinics fulfilling their working hours and in their free time or outside the hospital shifts, making cakes and all kinds of pastries to sell. It is becoming normal to see university professionals doing various jobs in order to pay for their living.

This is the group of people who fight and maintain a positive attitude, despite the fact that they are aware that in their country their academic preparation or the university degree they have is not recognized, added to the fact that the standard of living is very low. People try as much as possible to cope with the situation and maintain a stable life.

The most amazing and admirable thing is that many of these people manage to reach a fairly stable and comfortable economic level. Thus, being able to provide all the benefits and comforts to their family environment. In this regard, it should be said that there are a large number of well-trained, intelligent and highly creative individuals who fight and strive to improve their standard of living and that of their family.

Unfortunately, there is also the other part of people who, because they do not have an academic preparation, due to the lack of values and adequate support at home, live in a situation of ignorance, misery and great poverty. These are the people who live very badly in Venezuela, since the political system does not offer the population any kind of opportunities. When the Chávez and Maduro governments began to develop, people still did not realize the phenomenon that was developing and what was really happening.

It is difficult to see how the sick in Venezuela do not have the necessary resources to meet their needs. The situation in hospitals is critical, public services do not work and health personnel do not have the necessary equipment to help patients. This situation is widespread today and is much worse due to the Covid 19 pandemic. It is sad to see how people see their relatives die, due to the strong situation they have to live in health centers and because of the low economic resources of the people.

The Rodríguez family has had to face this whole storm or difficult situation, caused by the socialist tyranny of Hugo Chávez and Nicolás Maduro. As sensitive, catholic and well-trained people they had to face a whole series of situations that in many cases they feel like they are drowning and wonder when they got lost and let go of the rudder that led them to a totally different destiny than the one they were. Face today.
