Chapter 47 - Chapter 47: Innate Skill.

After Myah delivered the Foundation Spear Art's third move, Force Swing,

A deadly and mighty power quickly sent the densely packed group of Bouncing Slimes flying all over the place like deflated balloons.

They were shocked by the attack's unforeseen burst of destruction.

When the cloud of dusks particles finally died down, the group of Bouncing Slimes stopped their activities and were momentarily in a daze.

They didn't expect him to become so fierce, so sudden!

But of course, the bunch of blobs quickly assemble and started to gang on him once again.

Although Myah's strike was powerful, such a physical attack doesn't do much damage to the slimes' particular body.

Unless facing an elemental attack or a completely overwhelming physical might beyond their breaking point, the only way to defeat a slime is to destroy their beast core.

But it's not easy.

If you are not fast enough, the slimes could move their core freely to avoid lethal strikes once they sensed danger.

Which, in this case, is an unachievable task for Myah as a One-star Warrior.

"Ouch! That hurt! Stop!"

Crossing his arm to defend himself, Myah could only passively take on the Bouncing Slimes' tide of intensified attacks.

Even though he tried to reinforce his wooden spear with spirit energy beforehand, the violent power still broke it into pieces.

It couldn't be helped.

As that strike was Myah's second execution of the skill Force Swing, he couldn't control it properly, not to mention that the little guy was very excited at the time.

Besides, the wooden spear itself was too fragile, and he has already broken more than just a dozen of them in only a few days of practice.

Although the wooden spears are replaceable, it's also part of Myah's training not to break them while fighting.

Mu Suyin scolded him every time a wooden spear was broken, explaining the importance of preserving one's weapon.

All spears are the same.

Unless it's a godly weapon that is thoroughly indestructible,

When facing an enemy much stronger enemy than oneself, most of the time, it's especially easy for one's weapon to be destroyed if handle carelessly.

Similar to a swordsman, for a spearman to have their spear broken is dangerous and taboo.

This point is especially important when facing an enemy in a life and death battle.

One could also assume that a spearman's spear is their life!

...

After roughly a full minute of going through a heavy thrashing, Myah couldn't take it anymore and exclaimed hurriedly,

"Ahhh! It's hurt! Bumpkin, help me quickly!"

Now, aside from defending his stomach and face to prevent losing any more baby teeth, Myah's body was on the verge of breaking.

Every strike from the group of Bouncing Slimes was quite something.

With Myah's endurance, it was still acceptable to take a few hits, but he has already taken almost a hundred blows.

At this point, various bloody bruises already covered his body, and he feels paralyzed.

It hurts everywhere!

While resting on a patch of green grass a short distance away, Bumpkin briefly glanced in Mu Suyin's direction.

Seeing that she didn't say anything, Bumpkin takes it as a sign of approval and fully unleashes a deep, mighty cry together with its aura of a mid-stage Rank 1 War Soul.

After becoming a War Soul, about half the pain and injuries Myah experienced would be shared and transferred to it as well. The same would also be applied to Myah when Bumpkin is injured.

It's a mutual reciprocation!

Therefore, Bumpkin couldn't wait to teach these despicable slimes a lesson. If not for its strong body as a former Spirit Beast, it wouldn't be in any better state than Myah's situation.

Bumpkin stood up on its four hooves before charging toward Myah's direction with a strong fighting spirit.

"Neighhh!!!!"

Following with its long-drawn war cry, Bumpkin immediately uses its to attack as if declaring,

'It's time to show them who is boss! It will be a massacre!!!!'

Immediately, a turbulent surge of spirit energy from within Bumpkin's beast core erupted outside of its body.

A solid yet indistinct spherical shield was constructed, fully covering Bumpkin's whole body. As if drawing in the sunlight, the energy shield radiated with a dim yellowish glow.

It was astonishing!

Utilizing its build-up momentum while running, Bumpkin fearlessly charged into the group of Bouncing Slimes that besieged around Myah.

The stalwart stomping punctured the earth under its hooves as broken fragments of rock shooting everywhere.

Like a clash of steel,

Bumpkin sent all the slimes flying all over the places whenever its energy shield forcefully plunged into them.

Boom! BoOm!

BOom! Clang! BOOM!

The brutal impact sends a few slimes crashing against the thick trees, and some get thrown into the lake's water while a few shoot through the sky like stars.

But just like Myah's spear skill, even though Bumpkin's a mid-stage Rank 1 War Soul, its pure physical attack wasn't enough to defeat the group of Bouncing Slimes.

Be it Adventurers or Spirit Beasts,

Slimes, in general, could be a very annoying opponent to deal with without the mean and required skill.

Before Myah can get some time to recover, the Bouncing Slimes quickly recovered, assembled, and continued with their unified attacks.

Their was used continuously!

Helpless, Bumpkin's could only fence them off from Myah by running in a circle around him with its activated.

But this strategy wouldn't last forever as Bumpkin's energy reserves would run out sooner or later.

Although Innate Skills are powerful and required little energy,

But to activate them continuously for an extended period of time, even a Legendary Beast in legend couldn't keep up with the monstrous energy consumption.

Suppose that were to happen, the consequences would be terrible.

Myah couldn't help but shudder at the thought.

His grandma has already warned that unless he gets beaten unconscious, she will not help him as this is serious training.

He couldn't go at it half-heartedly.

...

Drifting in the water with nothing else to do, the hefty hippo, a family of otters, and the many other Spirit Beasts chilling by the side of the lake lets out loud waves of laughter as they watched Myah and Bumpkin's struggle with great curiosity.

These two idiots have been at it for days.

It's a good show.

...

Now, with his spear destroyed, he doesn't even have a weapon to fight back anymore.

Realizing that there was no other choice, Myah let out a weary sigh and jumped onto Bumkin's back.

He could only end today's training prematurely.

"Let's go, Bumpkin, jump into the water!" Without any hesitation, Myah shouted.

Following his order, Bumpkin effortlessly breaks through the encirclement of the Bouncing Slimes.

As long as it still has enough spirit energy to keep the shield active, the slimes won't be able to break through its defense.

PLOOPPP!!!!

Once Bumpkin jumped into the lake, water droplets were flying everywhere.

"Huaa!"

Finally feeling somewhat relaxed and comfortable, Myah quickly cleansed the special powder off of his body.

With that, the group of Bouncing Slimes cheered and celebrated with another victory while the surrounding Spirit Beasts cackled funnily.
