Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Pain!

The bitter wind flew, quietly carrying the snowflakes and breezed through the open window of another building somewhere inside the Braveheart Clan's Residence.

Thoran could be seen walking up to the curtain and breathing in the freezing air of the wintry season. His old face was full of wrinkles and looked rather emotionless.

Even a transcendent powerhouse who has shredded from their mortal body couldn't escape the corrosion of time.

However, although Thoran's body looks frail, there was a light of wisdom and vigor in his eyes—the result of hundreds of years of experience.

The Braveheart Clan will be an indestructible entity as long as he is breathing. For the sake of his precious grandson and the Clan's prosperity, he would stop at nothing and made his judgment with absolutely no irresolution.

Standing alone next to the window, he patiently waited and was in deep thought.

'The first snow of this year is way longer than usual. How spectacular.' Thoran laughed while observing the thunder that occasionally flashed in the snowy sky above.

'I can see it, the rise of our Clan! Even the eternal Heaven seems to be celebrating!'

Although it's unusual, he takes this sign as an auspicious omen.

In the dark and gloomy corner of the room, the black shadow fluttered into the shape of a man and spoke in an eerie voice, "Master, William is here to deliver the child."

Hua!

"It's time." Thoran adjusted his robe and walked out of the room.

"William greet the Clan leader." Noticing Thoran coming down, William instantly composed himself and bowed in respect, and there was also a hint of unconcealed excitement in his tone.

"Very good." (Thoran)

"William, you have made the right choice." Thoran quietly gazed at William for a second and then turned his eyes to the unconscious Myah; he nodded and patted William on the shoulder. "Wait here for a while. The extraction process will be done in no time."

As Thoran took Myah and was about to go to the Ceremonial Hall, William spoke in hesitation, "Clan Leader, about your promise..."

"Worry not, after this is over. The Clan will provide you with the resources and the formula to your War Soul's evolution path." Thoran said without even looking back.

William bowed once more, "Thank you, Clan Leader."

He was exhilarated!

Unlike Hannah, although William also has a C-grade talent. He has been stuck as a One-star Master for a long time. His War Soul, the Flaming Lion, has reached its limit after advanced to the Early-stage of Rank Three. It couldn't go any further.

Without an outstanding talent, resources, and especially the War Soul Evolution Formula. No matter how hard he cultivates, there would be no hope for him to raise his cultivation in the future.

Hard work is essential but innate talent determines one's upper limit. Such was the way of the world.

Because of Heavenly Laws, once a spirit beast accepts the sacred contract and becomes a War Soul, it would lose its ability to evolve naturally with time.

Therefore, a War Soul Evolution Formula is required for a War Soul that has reached its limit to grow and advance to the next rank.

However, each type of War Soul would usually have its unique evolutionary path. Their formula was painstakingly experimented with and went through countless trials. Hence they are heavily regulated in Clans, Families, and Sects.

All in all, one can't just use an evolution formula of a pig and expect it to work on a dragon.

Except for some basic formulas made to be common knowledge, everything else is kept secret and is only passed down onto the members and descendants of the corresponding families.

In other words, each War Soul Evolution Formula was the foundation of every power and organization.

It was primarily because of his inferior talent that William required a high-end evolution path and resources for his War Soul, the Flaming Lion, to grow stronger.

As for his son, Myah...

He could always have another child! Such is the thought that ran through his mind.

Inside the Ceremonial Hall.

Thoran placed the unconscious Myah in the middle of the jade platform and began taking out tools and material, making the necessary arrangement.

The Demon Sealing Eyes was unique, and one cannot casually remove it. Special preparations are required.

Throughout the Clan's history that dates back a long time ago, similar occasions have occurred many times. Hence, the ancestors have developed a method that guarantees that the extracted Demon Sealing Eyes would be perfect for assimilation.

It's just that the bloodline of the Clan is getting thinner and thinner after each generation, and the Demon Sealing Eyes has not appeared for the last thousand years.

Once Thoran was done rearranging the platform's formation, he checked it over one more time, this process was extremely complicated, and he couldn't afford it if anything went wrong.

"It's not my style to torture children, but it's required for you to be conscious during the whole process," Thoran muttered, then sent out a stream of spirit energy into Myah's body, waking him up in an instant.

"Tolerate with it for a while." (Thoran)

"Ah?" After waking up, Myah starts glancing around in confusion but only discovering an unfamiliar old man with a smelly mustache.

While seemingly in a daze, Myah ignorantly asked, "Who are you?"

To Myah's question, Thoran didn't answer, appearing emotionless. He remained silent and proceeded to activate the newly arranged formation.

The Spirit Stone in the center of the platform starts to shine, its brilliant light illuminating the entire Ceremonial Hall.

At that moment

Thoran split his wrist with a ceremonial knife, a deep cut was made, and red blood quickly flowed down onto the floor, making the platform's mysterious markings instantly come to life.

He began humming in an ancient language.

Then, a mysterious force suddenly wrapped Myah's tiny body, making him levitate in mid-air and was unable to move a muscle.

After hundreds of years, Thoran was highly experienced in controlling and manipulating his spirit energy. With a thought, thousand of strands made up of spirit energy emitted from his body; each was thin and would be barely noticeable even if they were joined together.

He carefully controlled the threads of spirit energy into Myah's eyes, skillfully disconnecting the veins and spiritual connection of the Demon Sealing Eyes from the body.

Blood... it flows like tears.

They slowly trickled out from the corner of Myah's eyelids as his tiny body remained stagnant; there was not even the slightest movement.

Myah wanted to scream, he wanted to cry his heart out, but he couldn't.

The formation kept Myah staying conscious the entire time, with a mysterious power locking his body in place, making him unable to let out even a sound.

The pain was indescribable!

If it were to be described in words, it would feel like having millions of sharp needles poking at one's nerves—that stinging sensation creeping toward to their brain, one at a time.
