We have been here for 2 or 3 months now and the house is slowly coming together, we have begun marking a claim to the area around the house. I'm sure surrounding packs know we are here by now but no one has come to check us out. One of the higher ranking females has decided to take claim to the Luna rank. She is kind hearted and a good Luna, she did get challenged by another of the females but she gave up quickly after the challenge begun. Out matched by the energy and strength coming from the higher ranking female.
We are a very small pack, at 20 females and 15 pups. Most are very young, toddlers and infants. A few of us are older, around 13-10 years old. We could have run but being this young we don't have our wolf yet, we get them at around 16.
-.-.-.-
The house is looking better and the grounds have been inspected for anything harmful to the younger kids, making it a safe place for them to hang out and play under the careful watch of the adults and Luna. They play near the house while me and the older kids go to play further towards the trees, of course with supervision. We run and play, dodging roots, and hiding in bushes. Tackling and play fighting. Things can get rough with the goys but its all fun and it doesn't take long to heal from injury's. An upside of having wolf blood running through our veins, even though we can't shift yet.
We get called back to the house for drinks and snacks, which we gladly make our way over to breathing heavily and laughing. Ham and chicken sandwiches, fruit and some small chocolate bars await. Some of the adults have jobs in the town, we buy what we can and hunt for the rest. We keep seeds and plant them to grow our own food, so we don't have to buy as much.
We buy stuff for the house which is looking really nice now, the kitchen is set up as well as the living room. We don't have a TV yet but that will come later. My room is still quiet empty but I don't mind cause I have more space to play. I have a bath room attached to it so I don't have to go to the community one on the floor. We got some wolf guys to check the house over and make sure everything was working properly, they were nice and belonged to one of the nearby packs. One of the un mated females realized one was her mate and now they spend weekends together.
-.-.-.-
One day while we were out playing we heard cars pulling up to the house. Since we were all here and no one was scheduled to be out that day, we were all sent into the house and up the back stair case. We filed into one of the bigger rooms on the second floor while the Luna and a few of her guards went to check out who it was.
"Where is your Alpha?!" We could here being said in a demanding voice. We recognise his smell as the males that checked the house over must have come from his pack. They must have told him and now he has come to check us out.
"We got separated fleeing an attack, and haven't heard from any of them. The distance is too far for the link. I am now the Luna here!" I could hear the Lunas voice, she had settled into her role and was confident without being too pushy. She made the last bit as powerful as she could, really showing her leadership.
"How many of you are there, you don't smell like a nearby pack ?" the voice came again. He sounded powerful and I could smell the group he had around him, maybe 10-15 others. Some were wolves as I could feel the low growls vibrate the air. Making sure we knew that they were ready on command.
"A mix of Females and pups, 20 of us, we have travelled far to escape. Luckily we have found this place!" She was on guard as she spoke knowing how vulnerable we were. She projected strength in the presence of this alpha.
Some of the kids at this point were getting restless as they didn't like being kept in this room. They wanted to play in the sunshine, and wrestle in the grass. It was a fight to keep them calm, but they stayed cause they could sense the uneasiness in the air.
"Where are my manners, I am the alpha of the North Oak Pack, you can call me Hayden !" He scans the exterior of the house and takes in a deep breathe. No doubt he can smell us. The Luna lets out a deep growl to keep his attention on her and away from the rest of us hidden on the second floor.
"Nice to meet you Hayden, would you like a drink or something!?" She gestures towards the house smiling. Keeping up her guard in case he tried anything.
He looks back at his guards, breaking eye contact and with a calm voice says "Stand down!" the wolves relax and the humans start talking amounts themselves while following the alpha. The wolves jump into the cars and shift as they do, putting on clothes they have in the backseats. The tension is still in the air and an uneasy feeling can be felt, but things seem to be going well. They are led into the kitchen by the Luna, some sit at the counter while others stand as she prepares drinks for them all.
"Where are the rest of you ?" he says looking around, toys and blankets are on the floor from the young pups that had been playing inside as its too hot outside for them right now.
"They are upstairs being protected, We can't trust unknown wolves no offence to you!" She says back to him, he now notices the females blocking routes to the back of the house and sitting on the stairs. "With soo many young pups we cant risk an attack that would harm them or their mothers." She serves the drinks and sits down. Interested on why he has made this visit.
He nods his head in a polite gesture, and takes a sip. The men behind say a quick thanks as they get handed drinks. "I have heard about you from my scouts." He starts, "You have really done this place up. It's really quite impressive." He takes another sip. "I can help to protect you, you look like you need the help!" He looks at the Luna. Holding his cup in his hand. He is patient as the Luna sips her drink and runs over the thoughts.
"What do you propose then Hayden? I can't deny that we need the help, but we need to find out what happened to our home!" She looks at him intently. She wants to know the others are ok before we commit to another Alpha.
"I can send some of my scouts to find out, although it will be a while before we hear anything." He looks down at his drink and sighs. "I will mark and area around the pack house, to make sure no rogues trespass. And send some warriors and guards to patrol, and protect. All I will ash is that they have rooms and food." He looks around to some of his guys who nod and leave. They leave in a car and head out. Getting some guys together to make the journey so we have some hands available immediately.
The conversation gets boring as they discuss what will happen and what is expected of us, another car pulls up and we are moved to the garden under the cover. While the new wolves settle in we are kept busy in the garden. Playing games and laughing, chasing each other and making obstacle courses. The wolves come out and introduce themselves, they join in and we play till dinner. Its a buffet as we welcome our new guard, once food has been eaten and children have been put to bed the adults stay up and get to know each other. The guards set out there schedule and everyone is on good terms.
Seems like stuff is gonna be better around here.
