Daniel asked, "Am I so handsome that I make you cry?". Despite the sound of a tease, he looked as grave as a statue.
Lydia glanced up at him. Nothing changes with this guy.
Lydia glanced away from him. "You are so ugly that you it hurts my eyes.". Hopeful that her words would encourage him to let go of her wrist.
Too bad for her. His eyes glowed with amusement. It was not because she treated him indifferently that Daniel was fascinated by her. He was humored that she was desperately trying to run from him when most were desperate to run into his arms. He let go of her wrist and then walked away. He left of alone there, standing like a lost puppy.
He walked fast and then walked out of the hospital. He walked direcly towards his car that was a little farther from the hospital. When she got out from the hospital a little later, she was looking for damn man who left her alone in a place she doesn't know for god's sake, can't he be a little nicer to her for once.
"She's looking for you, Boss." Adam, his secretary stared into the distance, where he could see the young woman glance right and left, but in a secretive manner as if she was looking for the right direction to walk in.
"As she should." Daniel leaned against his car, taking a drag of his cigarette.
The cigarette hung dangerously between his fingers, his eyes crinkling as smoke entered his vision.
Seeing her sweet expression, Daniel breathed in the cigarette, and when he saw her soft body turning like a lost fawn, he breathed again, and again, as many times as it would take to quench his thirst for her. But the more he inhaled, the more he wanted her more.
Her fluttering lashes, her hesitancy in the eyes, and her willingness to run. He wanted her like a man wanted water in a desert. He was eager to see how far she could run, how wide her wings could spread, and how beautiful she looked in his arms.
"Should I direct her here, Boss?" Adam inquired. He wondered if the young woman could see them.
"No need," Daniel answered." She'll come to me soon enough."
Adam didn't take the risk of asking more. He didn't need to, anyway. The woman at the end would find her way here."Yes, Boss." Adam responded.
How strange. The boss rarely smoked and when he did, it was because something made him mad, unnerved him or someone went against him.
_____________
After Lydia left the hospital, it was already very dark. She subconsciously searched for some black cars and looked around. Her gaze moved right and left as she walked down the stairs. As she approached them, she noticed a familiar-looking man, who appeared to be Daniel's secretary. No matter how much she wanted to keep a distance from Daniel, she kept a great distance from him.
"How long did it take you to come here, get into your car? I'm not some monster trying to devour you to keep that kind of distance."
Taking a step back and leaning against the front seat, he gave her some room so that she could open the door. When she opened the door and got into the car, she slammed it so hard that the car moved. His Secretary flinched a little, but Daniel remained calm while smoking.
After he finished smoking, he turned around. His gaze fell on her immediately. After opening the door, he said nothing.
